Our in-house Archway Mini-Tracked Lightweight Rig back when it was new! One of our female Engineers had the lucky opportunity to use this on the first day of use. The tracked rig allows us to complete dynamic (windowless sample) boreholes to a typical depth in the order 5.00-6.00m below ground level, navigating uneven terrain to achieve this. In addition, the rig has the capability to undertake SPT/CPT and dynamic probe testing for geotechnical design. As this site within the picture was found to be situated over reclaimed land / fill material, it was deemed necessary by the Engineer to install monitoring wells (standpipes) for future ground gas, soil vapour and groundwater monitoring. Monitoring wells can be installed within dynamic (windowless sample) boreholes using a combination of slotted and plain pipe.

Two members of our surveying team have successfully completed the CS01 Confined Space Entry course. All staff involved with day-to-day operations in confined spaces, whether supervising or entering a confined space, must be appropriately trained in line with Regulation 4 of the Confined Space Regulations 1997. Constructive Evaluation can provide various services within confined space working conditions, from structural surveys of wells and chimneys to repairing defects within culverts. Winter Groundwater Monitoring

2018, a new year, and now would be an opportune time to carry out winter groundwater monitoring.

As built developments can lead to an increase in surface water run-off - contributing to flooding and surface/groundwater pollution - it is frequently recommended that all relevant planning applications are supported with groundwater and drainage assessments (National Planning Practice Framework Guidance – NPPF; Surface Water and Drainage Supplementary Planning Document – SPD; and, Water Framework Directive – WFD). Thorough assessment and drainage solutions should aim not exacerbate existing problems.

Adequate drainage design (SuDs, soakaways etc.) will often require groundwater monitoring (or groundwater survey) data to determine the depth of the water table. Winter groundwater monitoring is undertaken during the months of October to March targeting the highest water table, in support of drainage design.

Constructive Evaluation operate throughout East and West Sussex, Hampshire and Surrey, working closely with Local Authorities including Chichester District Council and Arun District Council. We are able utilise several monitoring techniques including manual data readings and more bespoke long-term level loggers, to suit the requirements of the site. In addition to monitoring, we are able to undertake infiltration/percolation tests for soakage structures, in accordance with BRE 365.

CE also offer a range of comprehensive services, including Ground Investigation, Site Investigations, Materials Testing and Building Surveying.
