With the World Cup having kicked off, everyone's talking about whether football is coming home...

We're delighted to be renewing our stadium sponsorship with Ashford United FC for another two years, continuing our support for a club that sits at the heart of the local community.

Since 2024, we've proudly called The Greenbox Stadium home, and we're excited to continue supporting a club that brings people together, develops local talent and provides opportunities for the next generation of players coming through the ranks.

A single lithium-ion battery shut down our recycling facility for two days last week.

It entered the waste stream unnoticed, was damaged during processing, and within moments, a fire had taken hold on-site.

This is not a one-off incident. It is a growing issue across the waste sector, driven by the increasing number of batteries being disposed of incorrectly.

The risk is simple. If batteries enter general waste, they will eventually be handled, crushed or processed. When that happens, they can ignite without warning.

That puts sites, businesses and, most importantly, people at risk.

While the incident was serious, it could have been a lot worse.

Thanks to the rapid response from Kent Fire and Rescue Service and the professionalism of our on-site team, the situation was brought under control safely. Most importantly, no one was injured.

A sincere thank you to the fire crews and our staff at Greenbox for how they handled a difficult and high-pressure situation.

We are now back up and running, and trading continues as usual.
