I was talking to one of our carers recently about Margaret.
Nothing dramatic had happened.
No fall.
No ambulance.
No crisis.
But she’d noticed something small.
Margaret had stopped using the oven.
At first glance, that might not sound important.
But these are the moments experienced carers notice.
The little shifts.
The quiet changes.
The things families often can’t see because they happen gradually.
So instead of rushing in and making a fuss, she handled it gently.
She started preparing Margaret a proper hot meal during visits.
Made things simpler.
Safer.
Less overwhelming.
And today Margaret ate a proper hot meal again.
That might sound tiny to some people.
But if you work in care, you know it isn’t tiny at all.
Because often the real work isn’t “doing tasks.”
It’s noticing people.
That’s the kind of care we believe in at Care in Kent
And honestly?
That’s the kind of person we’re looking for too.
Not just someone who can complete a call.
Someone who notices.
If you’re the sort of person who naturally spots the little things other people miss…
you’d probably fit in very well here.
