We did our first wasp nest this year in May. I think we probably did our last one on Thursday last week. Now that the weather is a bit colder, the wasps will be dying off and any treatments done now are likely to cause problems with wasps coming into people’s houses and nothing can be done when that happens. I would like to thank everybody who recommends us for pest control work, it is most appreciated.

This month has been so busy with rats that by yesterday we had used a normal winter month's quantity of bait and we had to re-order only two weeks after the previous delivery, never done that before. Just to add to the weird times, somebody rang this morning with an ant problem - in January??

We got a call yesterday from a distressed lady who had lifted a toilet lid in her home and had been confronted with a rat looking at her. I have come across this once before and it was the same scenario, the toilet hadn't been used in quite some time and the water level in the toilet's trap had gone down and the rat had come up from the drain below. She bravely went back in and flushed the toilet and the problem was solved. This might be useful information for any pub or restaurant etc that has been closed for the duration of lockdown. The other thing that caterers will need to do is to run their taps for a good while before they re-open, there is a real risk of legionaires disease otherwise.

We are well in to the wasp season now and we are starting to get calls about wasps nests in trees and all over bushes. These generally aren't nests but just wasps feeding on sweet sap on the leaves. The wasps won't be aggressive and it will stop once the plant stops gving out sap. However if you are in doubt, give us a ring. We don't charge for advice!
