Did you know that our Heritage Officers also assist with enforcement cases involving unauthorised works on Listed Buildings?

A recent example involved a Grade II listed public house. All the roof tiles were removed without consent, leaving the roof structure exposed to the elements for many months. Through joint efforts between the heritage team and the enforcement team, the case went all the way to the High Court, resulting in an injunction to cover the roof. The roof is now covered, allowing the interior to dry out after being exposed to the elements for an extended period.

AYLEBSURY CONSERVATION AREA PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT EVENT
Wednesday 10th July

Join us at a stall in the Market Square to talk about our review of the Aylesbury Conservation Area Appraisal. We want to hear your opinions about Aylesbury’s historic centre, what makes it special and what could be improved.

We will be looking at all aspects of the Conservation Area, including its buildings, shopfronts, streets, street furniture, public art and green spaces. We will also be reviewing its boundaries.
You can help by giving us your opinions on some of the following questions:
What makes Aylesbury’s heritage special?
What are the threats to the Conservation Area?
Are there any opportunities to enhance Aylesbury’s special character?
Should the Conservation Area boundaries change?
Which buildings and landmarks in Aylesbury are locally important?

In addition, you can register your opinions here:
