Recently completed 1:550 scale model .dugs.design produced showing the Rosalind Franklin Laboratory, located in Lemington Spa. The building was constructed as a ‘mega lab’ to respond to the need for high volume diagnostic testing facilities during the Covid 19 pandemic.

Designed by , the model was built using a combination of steamed beech, laser cut acrylic & 3D printed components with clear roof to view the internal layout. The model also included a convenient flight case to ensure safe transportation & delivery.

Delivered last month on behalf of , this 1:150 scale sales & marketing model showcases their latest residential development .homes, located at the heart of Edinburgh Park.

The development consists of 397 new homes comprising of 1, 2 & 3 bed apartments and 3 bed mews houses.

We were commissioned by The Royal High School Preservation Trust last year to produce a 1:100 scale presentation model showcasing the refurbishment works currently being carried out on this historically significant Thomas Hamilton designed building located on Calton Hill, Edinburgh which when completed will become Scotland’s National Centre for Music.

The model itself was constructed to assist with marketing & fundraising for the project and included removable roofs to allow potential donors and interested parties the ability to view the new internal layouts, public areas and event spaces including the main performance hall located centrally within the building.

The model has been kept under wraps since delivery last year but I am now extremely pleased to be able to share some images of the finished project.

Recently completed 1:450 scale model showing the Translational Research Hub. Part of the University’s new £300m Innovation Campus providing laboratory & office space to enable further collaboration between researchers and industry.

You can’t beat a bit of Bully! 🎯

Working with Morrison Construction we built and installed this darts display at the last month to accompany their exhibition stand at .places.scotland

Fully branded with logos and text, it also featured it’s own leaderboard as everyone had their eyes on Bully’s Special Prize! 🚤 🚗

A great addition to the stand and proved to be a hit amongst visitors!

THE KEYSTONE BUILDING

Following the recent news that construction will commence this month on the latest addition to the campus development programme, Twa Dugs Design were proud to offer model making support to lead architects on this fantastic development.

At 1:450 scale, this model was produced using a mixture of steamed beech, laser cut acrylics & 3D printed components. It was also sized to fit a small flight case to allow for easy transportation to meetings and presentations.

A scientific instrument model we produced for showcasing their DynaChrom Single Use Chromatography System, used for advanced bioprocessing and separation.

The model was built at 1:8 scale using a combination of laser cut acrylic / 3D printed components and protected within a customised flight case for transport.
It will be used to help market and promote the DunaChrom system at industry trade shows with its first outing being at the BPI Europe conference in Vienna last month as part of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s exhibition stand at the event.

Couple of mini tower models getting ready to leave the workshop. One was back for some cosmetic repairs and the other is a shiny new one…..We’re loving the branded flight cases too! These working models will be heading out on the road to showcase their traditional salt making process and their amazing salt.
