2021 didnt have quite the event list as 2019 but at least it was better than 2020. We did the right thing and invested in some more PA - have a look, X line advance from Electrovoice and tour grade amps. These run with Bosch's new Sonique software which make system config very quick. The new amps will run the smaller XLE line array too. Cardioid sub is very straightforward and impressivly effective for rear rejection. Preview allows us to map out the soundstage and steer the sub and arrays to achieve best results.

The old Trinity rig reunited for an outdoor rugby festival. When parked up on the hill, provides a single point source for commentator and background music across the 12 acre site at Ballyclare.

We have just received a delivery from EV of the New Evolve 50 speaker system and are really impressed at the performance. For the size it packs a serious full range punch and can be set up in under 1 min. It is extremely light weight and requires just a power lead to work. The system is fully Bluetooth compatible with incredible range and can be controlled by app. It has a couple of line/mic with phantom inputs and RCA inputs for music. Contact me for a demo. I don’t think this one will be going back.

The new PA system was finished in time for the 500th anniversary of reformation and Martyrs Memorial had a full house plus overflow last Friday evening. Some of the congregation deliberately sat in acoustically awkward locations but the system did what it was designed to do - push audio evenly across the entire congregation.

I had a challenging time programming the FOH and recording desks so that sources local to each desk could appear on the other, across the link, and both could share the 32 channel stage box. This allows the audio team to play backing tracks from FOH, stage and studio. Record feeds and TX feeds setup in the studio along with some tasty audio monitoring from Neumann.

I have added a second stage box to the recording desk which picks up all of the audio from the smaller Jubilee Church. A second scene, changes the patching, allowing the mid week audio crew to record and transmit using the same desk layout. The WAP allows the M32 mix app to control audio from a virtual FOH position.

A.R.D. Sound and Lighting have been busy with our latest grand scale installation. We were successful in winning the contract for the new PA and graphics system in the Martyrs Memorial Free Presbyterian church.

The PA system is the first EV EVA line array system in Northern Ireland with a set of ZX1i for upper balcony delays. 6 boxes per side hang on custom wall brackets manufactured in our workshops. The system is driven off 6 of the new Dynacord L3600 processed amplifiers boasting some 1800watts per channel. 3 channels for the EV ZX1 foldback speakers will allow choirs and singers to stay on beat and in tune. We have allowed for 1 extra amplifier channel and have tuned the system with a single EV X12-128 XLine advanced Sub. This is more than capable of matching the main system and delivers the low frequency content for special services with DVDs and electronic stage keyboard.

All of the usual facilities panels have been added in useful places allowing connection of additional microphones and foldback speakers.

A pair of Midas M32R desks linked to a 32 channel stage box allow live and recorded sound to operate simultaneously.

The graphics system includes 2 new large format Panasonic projectors with long throw lenses and remote controlled screens which will roll up and fold away when not in use. A 65" LCD panel will allow the choirs to see their words or score. We have added circuits from 4 different locations which can connect independently to the projectors and screen.
