Like most of you we're glad to see the brighter evenings creep back in. And with that, it's back to regular training sessions.
For the handlers it's about company operational policies, procedures, standards and loads of banter. But the real fun part is working the dogs. Testing and improving them where we can.
For some it was about blowing the cobwebs off and continuing the journey as a dog handler, for others it was about preparing for the exceptional high standards of field trials later this year. To cap it off we have 3 young dogs only starting out. All needing continued socialisation and environmental training, nurtured and encouraged to be the best they can be. Then there's the obedience training and agility work not to mention tracking and article search. Some of the cadets will stay with the company and some will move on to new handlers and new challenges. Oh yes! and they do bite as well but there's so much more than that to a personal security dog and it's handler.
I've got to say a quick thank you to Donna who is a trainer from GGone To The Dogsand can also can be found at PPets At The Howlinfor providing a secure and massive training field. If you ever just want to let your dogs run free without the worries of other dogs or maybe your furbabys not great at coming straight back, this is the place to go!
