Amazing news,
I've hit another milestone.
A24 Security Systems remains well established, backed by 35 years hands-on experience, and I'm proud to be striking out on my own. If there's one thing I hope this shows, it's that other skilled individuals out there can absolutely do the same, you don't need a big company behind your name to prove what you know.
Having worked as a project manager, senior engineer, and in charge of operations for other large companies, I realized something simple, if I had the experience to do it all for them, I had the experience to do it for myself.
I'm officially going for the same certifications that the larger companies hold, proof that it can be done as a sole individual too. It's been 10 months in the making, and I've just had the nudge to push it over the line. All my paperwork is in place, and hopefully by the end of the year, everything will be good to go.
Good things come to those who wait, especially when you're a sole individual pursuing certification. I don't have the luxury of sitting behind a desk while others do the work, I have to be the face, I have to do the paperwork, and it all takes time. I also guide the certified subcontractors who help me on jobs, making sure everything's done to the standard I hold myself to.
What sets me apart is simple, no big offices, no fleets of flashy vehicles, none of the overheads that get quietly built into your price when you go with a large company. You get the same experience, the same know-how, the same quality equipment, without paying for somebody else's overhead.
Every milestone I hit is one I've earned the hard way, on the ground, doing the work myself. As I establish and grow bigger, I'll hit more, but you have to start somewhere.
