We will be closing Jonnie's go fund me on Monday (11th October), which marks exactly 4 weeks since he arrived back in the office following completion of this 980-mile cycle across Britain🚴‍♂️

Day 7: Hopetoun Estate to Strathdon ✅ Nikki from the Robin Menary Foundation met up with Jonnie just outside of Edinburgh.

to Caro Group of Companies for this leg of Jonnie's journey. Caro is one of the UK's leading Defence manufacturers.

Day 8: Jonnie then went on to complete Strathdon to Kyle of Sutherland ✅- 119 miles, one of the longest days. He met up with our Managing Director, Gareth Boyd.

Day 9: Kyle of Sutherland to John O'Groats was Jonnie's final day which was completed yesterday ✅

This final day was kindly by Previsico. Previsico are an insurtech forecaster who have created live FloodMap technology to predict & prevent flood impacts.

Jonnie completed this challenge for his two chosen charities. Slow The Flow, which is a charity that focuses on natural flood management as well as creating awareness around flooding. His other chosen charity is the Robin Menary Foundation for Brain Tumour Research.

Day 6: Carlisle to Hopetoun Estate ✅

Day 5: Haydock to Carlisle ✅

Jonnie has officially made it halfway through his challenge. 👏

to StormMeister Flood protection for being the of this leg and for coming out to meet Jonnie.

StormMeister's conventional flood doors use compression (passive) seals that rely on handle pressure to resist rising floodwater. This makes the doors difficult to operate and therefore liable to fail due to the excessive strain that is placed on the seals and locking mechanisms. StormMeister flood products are completely different, working to utilise the water pressure instead.

Day 4 complete ✅

Jonnie cycled from Ludlow to Haydock yesterday in the 29 degree heat 🥵. Some of our team at Watertight met up with him at the finish line (with beers and ice lollies) alongside some members of one of his chosen charities, Slow The Flow. for coming out to meet Jonnie.

This leg of his cycle was kindly by Aquobex. Aquobex was formed in 2010 when John Alexander & Gavin George got together to design and patent the world’s first floodproof door for the UK market.

Obtaining the assets of Flood Guards System Limited enabled Aquobex to go to market with a proven flood barrier and flood door portfolio that was added to with products from trusted partners to offer the first “one-stop shop” product set and delivery of surveys, installation and maintenance solutions.

Developing our 7-step flood mitigation process in 2010 whilst supporting the SMARTest project with Manchester University eventually led to Aquobex becoming Aviva’s accredited flood risk partner in 2019.

Jonnie is a third of the way through his Ride Across Britain challenge, having cycled a total of 316 miles in the past three days.
Yesterday Jonnie cycled from Bath to Ludlow, whilst making his way briefly making his way into Wales.

This leg of his cycle was kindly sponsored by M3 Floodtec.

On Saturday Jonathan Cunningham started his Deloitte Ride Across Britain 🚲

Day 1: Land's End to Okehampton was completed in 9 hours and 4 minutes. This was the day that Jonnie was regretting the most due to the elevation he would be climbing - 9,547 ft.

Thank you to Premier Water Solutions 10 Ltd. for sponsoring this first day. Over the past 10 years, they have developed their service into a complete package able to take on any size of project.

Day 2: Jonnie then went on to complete Okehampton to Bath yesterday - the longest of all days (121 miles). Jonnie met a familiar face today, thanks for popping by Graham.

Day 2 was sponsored by Flood Control International Ltd. They design, supply, and install the widest range of flood prevention solutions in the world, together with the full spectrum of associated professional services.

🚴 Jonnie is completing his cycle in just under 2 weeks. 🚴

The Robin Menary Foundation is one of the charities that Jonnie will be raising money for. One of our colleagues' brother-in-law sadly passed away with a brain tumour.

16,000 people are diagnosed with brain tumours every year in the UK with only a 13-15% survival rate - making it one of the deadliest forms of cancer.
