Looking for a rewarding role where you can really make a difference in your local community? We’re a small, friendly care team based in Barnstaple, and we’re looking for dedicated and compassionate carers to join us.


💚 WHAT WE OFFER:

🚗 Mileage allowance for drivers
📚 Full training – no experience needed
🎓 Apprenticeships available with Petroc College
⏰ Flexible hours (must include 2 evenings/week + alternate weekends)
🧠 Ongoing support – even out of hours!


👥 WHAT YOU’LL DO:
• Personal care (washing, dressing, applying creams)
• Preparing meals and drinks
• Medication support
• Light housework (laundry, dishes, changing beds)
• Providing friendly companionship 💬

We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated carers to join our happy, small care team.

Part time and full time positions available.
Driving lisence and own car required.
Must be able to work unsociable hours.
Must work mornings and atleast 2 evening per week and alternate weekends.

Your duties will include:
- Assisting with everyday living, i.e preparing meals and drinks.
- Assisting with personal care, i.e. having a wash, applying creams, getting dressed etc.
- Assisting with medication.
- Cleaning, general housework as well as some cleaning visits i.e. Dishes, hoovering, changing beds, doing laundry etc.
- Companionship, chatting with the individuals we care for and ensuring they are happy and comfortable whilst living in their own homes.

What we expect from you:

What to expect from us:
- Uniform provided (tunic)
- Good rates of pay (£12.50 per hour weekdays)
- Additional weekend enhancement (£13.50 per hour weekends)
- Full training given (no experience required)
- Support during and outside of office hours.
- Opportunity to enrol on apprenticehsip in care with the local college.

“JUST A CARER” they say. This is the reality of working in care….
We don’t just “wipe backsides” or “make cups of tea all day” or even sit around all day chatting to one another….....we have a duty of care.
We assist our clients to pick out an outfit every morning, we assist them to wash, dress and comb their hair. We ensure our clients have food and fluids throughout the day, we make sure they take their medication. We make sure they have a safe clean and tidy environment to live in. We do their shopping, making sure they have healthy choices. We reassure them when they’re having a frustrating day, we sing, we dance, we kiss your loved one on the forehead goodnight and tell them we love them every night when putting them to bed, we create and grow bonds like never before.
They’re more then just a client, they’re our family. We’re left heartbroken when a client passes and are still expected to carry on with our work, stay professional and on to the next client.
I’ve gone home and broken down like never before when all I see on social media is “they’re just a carer” well I’m “JUST A CARER” and it’s the hardest yet most rewarding job there ever has been and I wouldn’t change my job for the world. I’ll hold the memories created with each client that comes and goes forever ❤️
