We’re really pleased to see the continued recognition of the positive impact that our Community Safety Teams are having across Devon. 👏

As highlighted in this BBC News article, visible patrols, early intervention and strong partnership working are making a real difference in tackling anti-social behaviour and helping people feel safer in their communities.

We’re incredibly proud to be delivering Community Safety Team services across six towns in Devon, working alongside local authorities such as North Devon Council, Torridge District Council, East Devon District Council, Teignbridge District Council, Devon Council as well as Devon & Cornwall Police, The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Devon and Cornwall, businesses and community partners to provide reassurance, support vulnerable people and address issues before they escalate.

Every day our teams engage with residents, visitors and those in need, while gathering valuable intelligence that helps shape long-term solutions rather than simply responding to incidents.

A huge thank you to all of our officers and partner organisations who make this possible. We look forward to continuing this work and, hopefully, expanding these services to even more communities in the near future.

🚨 Water Rescue Training 🚨

Our Community Safety Team recently took part in specialist throwline training alongside Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service 🌊🚒

The session gave our CST the opportunity to learn vital water rescue techniques, including how to safely deploy a throwline to assist someone in difficulty in the water. With so many riverside and waterfront areas across our patrol locations, this training provides another valuable skill to help keep our communities safe.

A huge thank you to the team at Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service for sharing their expertise, guidance, and hands-on experience throughout the morning 👏
