Loneliness can quietly make everyday life feel smaller, but it shouldn’t be accepted as an unavoidable part of getting older.

Sometimes valuable support looks like having a familiar, trusted person to talk to, enjoy a coffee with, attend appointments or get out and about with.

Sweet Pea Home Help provides friendly, reliable companionship and practical support, shaped around each individual, across the Vale of Glamorgan and Cardiff.

Myth #2 – Home help means staying at home.

Home help and companionship can be about so much more than support around the house.

At Sweet Pea Home Help, we help people get out and about too — whether that’s shopping, attending appointments, enjoying a coffee, going for a walk or simply having some company and a change of scenery.

We’re a local, family-run home help and companionship service supporting people across the Vale of Glamorgan, including Cowbridge, Barry, Llantwit Major, Rhoose, St Athan, Sully, Dinas Powys and surrounding areas.

We’re currently welcoming new clients in the Vale, so if you or someone in your family could benefit from a little extra support to continue enjoying everyday life, please get in touch.

Sweet Pea Home Help – supporting people to live independently at home and enjoy life beyond it.

Today marks one year since Sweet Pea Home Help opened its doors.

A year ago, we had no clients, no reviews and no guarantee that our dream would succeed.

What we did have was a belief that there was room for a warm, reliable home help service where people are treated as individuals, with kindness, dignity and respect.

From day one, our aim has never simply been to provide a service. It’s been to build genuine relationships, support people to live independently at home, and give families the reassurance that their loved ones are in safe hands. That belief is what has driven us every single day.

None of this would have been possible without the trust our clients and their families have placed in us. Thank you for welcoming us into your homes and trusting us to support you. It is a privilege that we never take for granted.

We’re also incredibly grateful to the health and social care professionals who have trusted Sweet Pea Home Help enough to recommend us to the people they support, as well as everyone who has recommended us, shared our posts or left us a review. Your support has helped our small business grow, and we’re truly grateful.

We never imagined how many wonderful people we’d meet in our first year, and we feel incredibly fortunate to have been welcomed into so many homes and lives.

As we begin our second year, we look forward to continuing to support people to live independently at home. If you or someone you know could benefit from our home help and companionship services across the Vale of Glamorgan or Cardiff, we’d love to have a chat.

Thank you for being part of our first year. Here’s to year two. 💚

Myth #1: Accepting home help means giving up your independence.

We hear this more often than you might think, but in reality, good home help is about helping people stay independent for longer.

Whether it’s a little help around the house, getting to appointments, shopping, companionship or support with everyday tasks, the aim is never to take over. It’s to make life that little bit easier while helping people continue living safely and confidently in the home they love.

At Sweet Pea Home Help, we believe support should fit around the individual, respecting their choices, routines and independence every step of the way.

Proudly supporting people across the Vale of Glamorgan and Cardiff.

Asking for help is rarely an easy decision, whether it’s for yourself or someone you love.

Sometimes a little extra support with everyday tasks is all it takes to make life feel more manageable again.

At Sweet Pea Home Help, we provide friendly, reliable companionship and practical support to help older people remain independent in their own homes.

If you’d like an informal chat about how we can help, we’d love to hear from you.

“I’m managing.”
“I don’t need any help.”
“I’m not ready yet.”

We hear these words all the time.

The truth is, home help isn’t about giving up your independence – it’s about holding onto it for longer.

Sometimes it’s just having someone to pop in for a chat, help with the shopping, accompany you to appointments, or lend a hand around the house. A little support now can make life easier, safer and more enjoyable, without taking away your independence.

At Sweet Pea Home Help, there’s no pressure, no obligation and no personal care – just friendly, reliable companionship and practical support, tailored to you.

If you’re wondering whether home help might be right for you or someone you love, why not give us a call for a friendly, no-obligation chat?

When was the last time you took some time for yourself?

Many family carers spend so much time looking after others that their own wellbeing gets pushed to the bottom of the list.
