I LOVE WHAT I DO !! At the beginning of every coaching session we discuss that weeks wins .... which goes on a win sheet - we also discuss 'Learnings' and 'Challenges' but that is a whole other post 😊

This is a client who owns 2 garages who I have been working with for about 8 mths ... we have put lots in place so they have more transparency in their business and with more transparency they can make the right decisions because they can see the areas where they need to focus to make a massive impact.... and this is the result!!! Not only have they increased their Julys T/O by 39.42% from last year but cashflow has hugely improved (we implemented a cashflow forecast ) and they paid all their end of july invoices with a healthy amount if money left in the bank.... a very different story to when we started!

All this and lots of other factors has massively reduced stress for them and I have to say it is a beautiful thing to see ..... and this is only the beginning! cant wait to see what next year brings them 😁😁

There is ALWAYS someone that can do it cheaper .... ALWAYS !! but you have to decide are you selling on "we can beat any price" or are you selling on value & quality .... because there is a market for both.... the problem is when you are selling a high value product/service at a low price.

Building a business that attracts the right leada and then converts them doesnt just happen you have to create it.

* Define who your grade A clients actually are .... not just someone with a pulse !!
* Know where to get in front of them (eg Facebook, LinkedIn, Insra , networking groups, lumpy mail ...... etc)
* Have a structured plan on how to get their attention - Know what their pain points are
* Have a filter to get rid of anyone that isnt your ideal client..... easier than you think!!
* Make sure you have a sales process.... I dont mean a robotic script .. I mean a flow.... eg. what your quote looks like, how quickly you follow up, answers to all objections etc

The list goes on !!

Getting this right is so important and if you dont you will have a lack of time and money !!

GET MORE OUT OF YOUR TEAM .... these are some notes from a session this week .... DAILY HUDDLES make a huge difference to productivity ... Having a 15min call/zoom/f2f with your team every morning to find out what's going on, any challenges and targets for the end of the day will make a huge difference to your business .... it keeps jobs on track and makes you aware of any challenges quickly ....

1) What's up .... what's going on with the job?
2) What are the numbers ..... where are we with targets , hrs used, cost etc?
3) What are the challenges?
4) What is needed to hit today's targets?

Daily Huddles are to keep your weekly and monthly targets on track which then keep your job targets on track ..... throw in a 90 day plan and you are onto a winner 😁😁😁

EMPLOY THE RIGHT PEOPLE !! Having the right team to work with you is essential on so many levels! .... You need to take your superman pants off, build the role, recruit the right person and then help them fill that role ..... if your team arent A class it is your fault and it will be for one of the following 2 reasons....

1) You have employed the wrong person and arent getting rid of them

OR

2) You have the right person but you dont have their role defined, targets in place, default diary built, Systems for them to follow , incentives to drive them ..... you get the idea 😁

Having team members that want to do the things that drive your business forward is a beautiful thing .... but it doesnt just happen .... you have to create it ..... it has to be a win/win for both you and them .... and please don't think just paying their wages is enough of an incentive to bring the best out in someone ! There are so many things you can do to build an amazing happy driven team 😊

We all need people in our team like the person that stacked this lorry !

Business is a machine that will chew you up and spit you out if you dont run it properly .... it has no emotions and doesnt care what's going on in your life or the worlds economical climate .... and the belly of your business beast is the bank account - which needs to be fed constantly !! Business is simple...

* MARKETING (you attract)
* SALES ( you convert)
* OPERATIONS (you do your thing)
* FINANCE ( you collect the money )

This is the flow .... and the result ... the final bit..... is money in your account (high profit is a whole other post !!) ..... I speak to so many business owners that put all the hard effort in up to OPERATIONS....then that is where the blockage happens ...

* Letting clients go way past their payment date ... aged debt
* Not finding the time or forgetting to send the invoice! all that hard work then you dont even get paid for it !
* Variations .... either the client argues these or the variation invoice isnt even sent !
* Doing too much stuff for free
* Being knocked
* Not tracking jobs properly and the costs go way over budget which you dont charge for

The list goes on ....

There are simple things you can do to help with all the above .... you just have put them in place!

This was me for so many years !! ... even when I was with my kids work was still whizzing round my head .... I remember so many holidays having to do work ! The thing is it doesnt just change .... YOU have to change it .... YOU have to put the things in place so your business doesn't take over your life ..... but it's a catch 22 because YOU havent got the time to put the things in place to give you more time .... that's where the magic comes in .... and it isnt an overnight fix .... it is tiny changes every day .... you just have to know where to start !! I've done it and now I help other business owners do it 😁😁😁

Everything ..... and I mean EVERYTHING.... that it takes to have that business and life we want is done one step at a time.

The art to it is breaking it all down into those bite sized chunks so we can have small victories every day .... and being consistent with it !

Business, and life for that matter, is never plain sailing... NEVER!!! Stuff will test you, what feels like, everyday !! BUT we have 3 choices:

* Let it define you
* Let it destroy you
* Let it strengthen you

You are in control if that !!

There are 2 levels to a problem :

1) Deal with the problem there and then

This is the step most forget .....

2) Put things in place so that problem never happens again !!

You get to pick to be the victim or the warrior !!

SUPERMAN PANTS !! .... all my clients are wearing superman pants when I first start working with them ..... they are dubious and probably a bit scared to let go .... because NO-ONE can do it like them 😁😁 and I get that .... BUT if you put the right things in place then it makes it a whole lot easier because if you dont let go and delegate then you are suffocating your business and it cant grow !!

Things to put in place to be able to let go ....

* Systems and processes
* Defined job roles
* Default diaries
* KPIs to track
* Company flows
* 90 day goals

The list goes on !!

When you put all these things in place you can still be in control without having to actually do everything yourself 😁

RULES OF THE GAME ..... Setting up ROTG with you team can make so much difference .... it's all those things that are second nature to you but not your team .... for eg i was taught - "If you start at 8 and you arrive at 8 you are late" ..... making the 'Rule' very defined and black & white .... so if you want your team to arrive 15 mins before they start so they can make a coffee, have a quick chat etc... then build a rule around that..... stop expecting your team to think like you or to be able to read your mind! You write your ROTG and then go thro it with your team .... get their input - there are loads of ways to do it. This is a great document to use for new team members, for appraisals, even for a bonus structure !!

Which one are you ?

I am def #2 .... I like to think of it as organised chaos 😁 I also leave filling my car up until it's got 2 miles left in the tank ..... I tend pay things on the second red letter ..... and if I have an event im running, you will usually find me planning it the night before !!

I was the naughty kid at school and never really thought I fitted in so spent years beating myself up but when I realised it's just how my brain works, it's my software (def touch of ADHD) and all I've got to do is work with it not against.... that's when it all changed!! because what came with this brain is loads of amazing stuff .... in fact when I got out of my own way I saw it was a super power 😁

So if you can resonate with a "busy, scatty, distracted" brain that never really switches off then please dont get frustrated with it .... just take on board the tools you need to work with it ..... especially in business 😊
