They say buses come in twos… apparently so do Citroën HY vans! 😂

We recently had this lovely HY van in the Kio Pod workshop for a full interior refit,.

The refit included solid timber worktops, grey metro-style tiles, new sinks and tap, display refrigeration, plenty of storage and lots of lighting to make the serving area stand out.

These classic vans have loads of character already, so the aim was to create a practical catering setup while keeping that vintage feel.

A brilliant-looking unit and a very enjoyable one for the team to work on.

🍔 Our new 8ft catering cart is now available to buy or hire!

We manufactured cart here at Kio Pod and gave this one its first proper test last weekend at the Bassingbourn Primary School car boot sale.

We used it ourselves to serve burgers and hot dogs while helping to raise money for our local school, and we were really pleased with how it performed during a busy service.

The cart includes:

🔥 4ft LPG griddle
✨ Stainless-steel worktop
🗄️ Built-in storage cupboards
💡 Lighting and sign frames
☔ Large serving canopy
✅ Gas certificate included

It is ideal for school events, sports clubs, private parties, corporate events, markets or anyone wanting to try mobile catering without buying a full trailer.

Available to buy for £4,200 + VAT
Available to hire from £250 + VAT per day

Weekend hire from £400 + VAT, with delivery and collection charged separately.

We also manufacture bespoke catering carts, trailers, kiosks and container conversions, designed around your menu and the way you want to work.

Another one ready to head out the door... 🍕

There's something really satisfying about looking back at where a project started and seeing where it ended up.

This one arrived with us as an empty shell, and over the last few weeks we've transformed it into a fully bespoke mobile pizzeria, built around exactly how our customer wanted to work.

From the serving hatch and illuminated signage to the stainless worktops, storage, Gozney oven and all the little details in between, every part has been built here in our workshop.

We're a small family business, but that's exactly how we like it. Every trailer, container and catering unit that leaves our workshop has been built by people who genuinely care about what they're making. We take pride in doing things properly, and nothing leaves until we'd be happy to put our own name on it.

A huge thank you to our customer for trusting us with another exciting project. We can't wait to see it serving pizzas soon! 🍕

Before the crowds, there was a lot of work in the workshop.

These two catering containers started as raw builds and went through a full in-house transformation — fabrication, hatch work, interiors, stainless fit-out, lighting, extraction, flooring, branding and finishing.

Projects like this take a real team effort, and it’s always good to look back at the process once the units are out doing the job they were built for.

From workshop floor to Radio 1’s Big Weekend.

This was a proud one for us at Kiopod.

Over the past few months we’ve been designing, fabricating and fitting out two bespoke catering containers in-house — taking them from workshop builds through to fully operational festival food units.

Last weekend they went out on their first live job at Radio 1’s Big Weekend.

Seeing them finished, delivered, installed and serving customers at a major event was a proper milestone for the team.

A huge amount of work went into this project — fabrication, fit-out, lighting, stainless interiors, branding, transport, logistics and installation — and it was brilliant to see it all come together on site.
