Following the discussion sparked by Graeme Fox's recent article on the skills landscape across the RACHP sector, work is now underway to turn that conversation into action.
Graeme is coordinating with the Building Safety Regulator's office and the relevant awarding body to develop a clear pathway for evidencing experienced worker competence - recognising the skills engineers have built on the job, not just formal qualifications.
A working group kick-off is scheduled for 27th August to take this forward.
โ๏ธ Recognising real-world experience alongside formal training
โ๏ธ Creating a credible pathway to evidence competence
โ๏ธ Working directly with regulators and awarding bodies to shape the outcome
This is about more than raising awareness - it's about building the framework the industry needs.
