📅 Graeme Fox will be representing F-gas Register at the British Refrigeration Association (BRA) conference, "𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲," at CIBSE's head office, Saffron Hill, 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻, 𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿.

The day covers refrigeration's role in net zero, decarbonising the cold chain, GB F-Gas quota impacts, and refrigeration policy in North America and the EU, closing with a panel discussion on the future of refrigeration chaired by Allan Harper.

It's a great line-up and a good chance to represent F-Gas Register at a national level.

🧠 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, the skills working group held its second meeting last Thursday - and the progress is encouraging.

✔️ Very positive progress made on the 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗲, evidencing competence for the RACHP sector
✔️ NOCN and EAL have created a basic framework for how the pathway will work, with the working group now helping to flesh it out to meet the sector's needs
✔️ The work is being developed in alignment with the 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿'𝘀 office, to ensure outcomes meet the requirements of the Building Safety Act without confusion or duplication of qualifications

Graeme Fox will be at Chillventa in Nuremberg on the 14th and 15th too, so expect plenty of conversations about this while he's there.

Following on from the discussion we shared last month, the skills working group - brought together by Graeme Fox - held its kick-off meeting, and it was well attended, with strong input from employers and trainers across the sector.

NOCN and EAL are now mapping out a route towards an 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, recognising the skills people have built on the job alongside formal training.

The group is reconvening 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟱 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 to review the roadmap as it takes shape.
