We met for a coffee, had a chat about where they needed support, and they booked me there and then.

Two months on, I’m helping with inbox management, diary management and admin tasks that were taking up valuable time in their week.

Sometimes all it takes is a conversation to realise you don’t have to do everything yourself.

Fresh off the press and tied with a bow… literally! 🎀

My Red Bow flyers and business cards have arrived, marking a meaningful step in growing my freelance brand.

Red Bow VA exists to support local businesses and busy professionals with reliable, friendly admin and event support and now the brand is ready to meet the community in person.

Attended my first networking event last night! A little outside my comfort zone, but a really valuable experience.

It was great to meet some of the faces behind well-known businesses in Calne, have some interesting conversations, and end the evening with a tour of the Atwell-Wilson Motor Museum.

We had a fantastic network meeting yesterday!

Mental Health Awareness Week feels like the perfect reminder that we don’t always have to push through.

When you work for yourself or support others for a living, it can be difficult to recognise when you’re running on empty. We often tell ourselves to keep going, answer one more email or finish one more task.

But knowing when to step back is important too.

Taking a break, slowing down or giving yourself space to reset doesn’t mean you’re unproductive - it means you’re human. Protecting your mental wellbeing is just as important as meeting deadlines.

If you’ve been needing a sign to rest a little more this week, this is it. ❤️

🎀 6 months of Red Bow today! I can’t believe how fast it’s gone and how much I’ve learned already…

Here are 6 things I’ve learned in 6 months of being a business owner / VA:

1. Track the time. Toggl has been a game-changer for keeping me accountable, pricing fairly, and showing clients exactly where the hours go (it also stops me undercharging 🙈).

2. Show your face. The minute I started popping up more on stories/posts, people engaged more. Turns out… people really do buy from people!

3. Your network matters. My first clients came through friends, family and referrals. Skills matter (obviously 😅) but relationships open the door.

4. Flexibility wins. This is the biggest one for me 🥰I love being able to plan my days around life, not the other way round. I’m genuinely so much happier.

5. Systems save you. Templates, checklists, and a simple routine = less stress, fewer mistakes, and quicker turnaround. “Future me” thanks “past me” daily!

6. Boundaries protect you. Clear expectations (what’s included, what isn’t, timelines, how we communicate) make everything smoother for everyone.
