Getting a lot of views on a video of me dancing at cross the other week.

Doing the 100 miles in October challenge to raise money for The National Autistic Society and I've smashed my targets already!!!

I've got less than a week of distance left, but only into single figures to hit 100, so my final distance should be a bit longer! Stay tuned and I will upload my journey through the medium of pics & videos, uploaded to all platforms.

I will also challenge myself even more in the last week, and go out dancing in my custom kilt, that was kindly gifted to me by The Kilt Studio a few years ago - it's multicoloured, so you can't miss me (not that you'd miss a guy dancing down the road, lol!)

My good friend Zoë Jane will be helping me edit, produce & post these videos, so I want to thank her again for agreeing and, in advance, to all the work I know she will do to make me look presentable, lol 🤪

Anyway, if you can please spread the word to everyone you know in and around that I'm dancing around for charity, to say hi, smile, wave, beep, flash lights, thumbs up etc. or, even better, go to my JustGiving page and donate, however small, to this amazing charity National Autistic Society - or if you see me & have spare cash, I'm taking donations. If you've only got change, no problems! I also have an official sponsorship form, if you prefer to donate & give GiftAid.

Please take the time to follow, view, share & comment on this video, so it reaches further afield. And if you, or someone you know, has a video of me, please post, mentioning The National Autistic Society, and tag me in. That way I get to see if I'm getting the message across & making people happy in the process... Job done!

If anyone knows anyone within any West Lothian news or radio teams, can you please ask them to get in touch. It might be a bit late to do anything for the 100 miles in October challenge, but maybe for future fundraising & dancing events...

Come along and see us at the World Mental Health Day event at the Strathbrock (189A W Main St, Broxburn EH52 5LH), Thursday 10th October - 10am-2pm.

This year's theme, set by The World Federation of Mental Health, is Mental Health in the Workplace.

There will be 3 of us at the Bipolar Scotland table to have conversations, and hand out information, on all things related to Bipolar and Bipolar Scotland.

If you can't make it, but would like more information on what Bipolar Scotland can provide, either comment here or DM me.

I have been traveling with this person for 47 years...

I allowed them to be broken.
I allowed others to treat them disrespectfully.
I have seen them fall and get up several times.
They stood paralyzed by fear as they fought battles in their mind, heart and soul.
They trusted and believed people who didn’t believe in them.
They have a LOT of scars...

Some people love this human being, some like them, some don’t care about them at all and some hate them....
They did good in their life, and they didn't do so good in their life.
Every mistake, failure, trial, disappointment, betrayal, success, joy and achievement has made them who they are today.
They are not perfect.
They are unstoppable, gracefully broken, but beautifully standing... and they will never stop learning, growing or moving forward...
they are ME ....... 💗

Everyone, I challenge you to put this on your status with a picture of yourself.

Recovery for me is a tricky word, especially when it comes to Bipolar... I think it instills a false image of someone who has been 'cured' of this illness, but for me I have come to see it as a balance of moods. We who suffer from this ever changing condition recover from being both too high or too low, to reach a happy medium, where I see it as a "sweet spot". The Goldilocks zone, where I can function as a human being, hold interests in things I used to participate in & have motivation to better myself. Everyone's journey is different, but we should all strive to help one another with our own experiences, as help from the NHS is lacking - due, in the most part, to lack of understanding and specific medical training in treatment & therapy techniques. Also lack of courses, training and groups for those in need. A better link between Bipolar Scotland and the NHS should be a top priority. Namaste brothers and sisters 😁☮️❤️💯🌱🫂
