A WONDERFUL EVENING
On Friday night we went to the opening of Janine Burrows exhibition, ‘Table to Tide’ at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park .
With her studio at the West Yorkshire Print Workshop in Mirfield Janine has been a freelance designer/illustrator for many years, but back in January 2020 she decided to follow her heart and became a full time artist. Only a few months later the world tumbled into chaos as Covid19 hit, sending everything into lock-down - Not the best time to start a new career, but Janine continued to paint and found her work sold exceptionally well online. When life eventually re-opened, Janine was invited to have exhibitions at various galleries up and down the country, including Morgans Gallery Falmouth, the The Old School Gallery in Alnwick and last year she had a major exhibition at the The Biscuit Factory in Newcastle, which was a great success.
Last year Janine was approached by the Y.S.P. and the ‘Table to Tide’ exhibition was conceived - an amazing opportunity to exhibit at the north’s premier venue for art and where world renowned artists show their work.
She worked closely with the Y.S.P. team for over a year, looking at ideas, options, content, presentation, etc, to ensure everything came together for this major exhibition. Janine has been incredibly busy creating artwork for her exhibition, which includes over sixty beautiful original paintings, limited edition screen prints, gorgeous little painted wooden houses, individual hand painted plates and a selection of accessories, all of which are for sale at Y.S.P.
Friday evening was the culmination of an exciting year of incredibly hard work, and family, friends and art collectors alike finally got the opportunity to see this gorgeous exhibition in all it’s glory. It was a huge turnout of people and there were red dots aplenty, making it a wonderful evening for Janine and a real testament to her creative passion and talent. The exhibition runs until 23rd Oct 2022, so go along and see this joyful exhibition which celebrates so many wonderful things about our beloved Yorkshire, all created by our very own Yorkshire lass.
