A quick timber run from the log yard 🚜🌲

Using the rotating grapple to pick up and load the timber makes this part of the job a lot smoother - and if we’re honest, it’s one of the more fun jobs around the yard!

Once the trailer’s full, it’s off to the processor where these lengths will be cut, split and eventually kiln dried to become the logs that keep homes warm all winter.

One more step in the journey from timber to firewood 🪵🔥

Changing the chain on the K700.

Keeping a sharp chain on the processor is essential to a productive day’s processing.

On a typical day we might change the chain one or two times however, some days when dealing with muddy bark it can be much more frequently.

As always happens as soon as you put a fresh chain in you manage to find a rock hiding in the bark or a bit of metal embedded in the wood🤦‍♂️

Never a dull day at the yard 🪵🔥

From processing fresh timber and bagging up orders, to unloading the kiln and heading out on deliveries - it’s all go from start to finish.

Every log passes through our hands at some point, and that’s exactly how we like it. At Stovewood Direct, our family firewood business runs on hard work, attention to detail, and keeping homes warm all winter long.

When the Posch K700 gets going, it really gets going 🪵⚙️🔥

Cutting timber into rounds, pushing them through the splitting wedge, and sending perfectly sized logs flying up the conveyor - this is where the firewood journey really starts.

Days like this keep the yard moving and the kiln full. At Stovewood Direct, our family firewood business processes everything in-house to make sure every batch of kiln-dried logs is clean, consistent, and ready to burn.
