There’s something really beautiful about a vintage brush and we’re particularly pleased with our latest haul of unused old stock at the shop. They’ll give years of loyal service and at the end of they’re life they’ll just decompose unlike modern plastic brushes. I’m still using brushes and tools that came from my Grandma’s house. What family cleaning ‘heirlooms’ do you own ?

Monday 13th May .... glorious morning walk with the dogs ... round the lake, through the pasture down to the fisherman’s hut then along the river bank. Unfortunately exam hell starts here with the girls embarking on their GCSEs this week. Wishing all the parents of teenagers strength to get through to summer !😬

Thursday 2nd May ... all ready for tomorrow’s visit to Bedale by the Tour De Yorkshire. We’re running a pop up Temperance Bar for the day in the shop - fantastic cordials from Ginger Beer to Blood Tonic and Sarsaparilla on offer - pop in for some vintage style Refreshments - warm cordials available if it’s cold 😃

Friday 26th April ... a storms brewing but the fields are still glowing in the dimming light . Making me feel strangely uneasy for some weird reason . Better get back to work !

Wednesday 24th April ... what do you do when the shop’s not open ? Today is meant to be a day off today but it will inevitably include some packing of orders , unloading of new finds on our Ebay Shop, research and planning but the garden needs some love today too @ Bedale, North Yorkshire

Saturday 19th April ... there’s something about vintage cutlery that I can’t resist ... it tells so many stories of status, celebrations, etiquette and traditions through its design and wear. Always got a collection to by in our shop to adorn your table with.

Had a day out pottering yesterday and managed to find a few of these vintage union flags to sell in the shop @ Bedale, North Yorkshire

As Easter fast approaches and my preference for eggs of the chocolate variety takes hold I’ve been digging out egg cups from the back of the cupboard. Found some kept from my childhood back there along with vintage Bovril cups too which are perfect for those larger eggs - we’ve always got them in our shop too @ Red House Bedale

Our huge industrial clock is up on the Shop wall at last thanks to Mr Shopkeeper’s hard work yesterday 😃 love it although now of course it will sell and be gone - that’s the pain and pleasure of selling vintage one off items
