Good afternoon / Salaam,
Hope you and your family are all well.
We have received communication from HMRC regarding Self-Employment Income Support Scheme and would like to share them with you and as always, we wish to provide our clients with best service possible.
This week HMRC will start contacting people who may be eligible for the new Self-Employment Income Support Scheme. If you are eligible, this scheme will allow you to claim a taxable grant worth 80% of your trading profits up to a maximum of £7,500.
According to the HMRC the process will be quick and easy for clients (you) to follow, but HMRC are asking us to help in guiding our clients through the eligibility criteria and the process for checking and claiming. Advising our clients, HMRC suggesting we can play an important role in supporting our clients by helping our clients (you) get ready to claim, by:
• talking clients (you) through why client may / may not be eligible
• helping clients (you) to find the details needed
• using the online eligibility checker on client’s (your) behalf.
Under the rules of the scheme, not every self-employed person will be able to claim, if you are not happy about this you may want to contact government or your MP directly. HMRC mentioned that client must complete the claim themselves. However, we will be here to help our clients.
Should you require any assistance regarding the grant, feel free to call us.
Ps. Be aware of scams. If someone gets in touch with you claiming to be from HMRC, saying that financial help can be claimed or that a tax refund is owed, and asks you to click on a link or to give information such as your name, credit card or bank details, you should not respond. It is a scam. Eligible clients will be invited to claim through GOV.UK – it is the only service you can use. Suspicious emails claiming to be from HMRC should reported to HMRC by sending them to [email protected]. Texts should be sent to 60599.
Best regards,
