Staying positive through the winter.
Here are some interesting and useful tips and guidance from different sets of experts and research focusing on well-being
Keeping active, although difficult in winter, reduces stress and anxiety. Regular exercise, even in small amounts, helps our mood, energy and supports our overall well-being.
Stop or manage our tendency for over thinking, developing more ‘helpful habits’. This involves learning to shift and refocus our thoughts on how we can move forward, to take practical, small steps that will help address our concerns or problems.
Setting a new goal or target, something small or a big project, learning something new, this approach motivates and drives us forward, our goal motivated behaviours. By writing things down, our goal or target, we can also gain a sense of control and purpose.
To try and do what we can even if it’s not 100%, not to wait or expect to do it perfectly and hold ourselves back, to accept and focus on what you can do
Talking to others, talking things through with someone we know and trust, who can help us to reframe it and give us a different perspective, importance of reaching out and maintaining our connections, our social network.
