On the 30th May Clarkson Controls will be representing the Building Controls Industry at our local jobs fair, supported by the BCIA, BCIA Young Engineers Network and Belimo UK.

Organised by Bradley Thomas MP at Bromsgrove School Sports Centre the jobs fair is free to attend. We’ll be providing an opportunity to learn about working in the Building Controls Industry and how our engineers are contributing to the drive for energy efficiency and climate change initiatives in buildings across the uk.

We can’t wait to see you there.

Well - the final testing for our new room sensor range is nearly complete with the Bi-directional wireless room units now working in our own premises.
However, we are finding it quite challenging in finding a name for it! We've had several ideas but in these times of ultra wokeism, what do you call a LoRawan wireless, bi-directional, 24v dc powered device with 0/10v outputs?
So, we are having a little competition to name the unit, please forward suitable ideas to [email protected] with a chance to win a mixed box of 12 cans from Birmingham Brewery Company. Just a few rules, the competition ends 28th September 2024 and is open to UK residents only (mainland postal codes) Malcolm’s decision is final.

New Vacancy: Senior Controls/BMS Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior BMS Engineer/Commissioning Engineer, based in the Worcestershire / West Midlands area.

The successful candidate must have a proven ability in the Design and Commissioning of all aspects of HVAC controls and building management systems. The ability to work independently is expected. A sound knowledge of HVAC plant and associated equipment is essential.

Role Profile:
The successful applicant for this role must have knowledge of, for example, Distech, Tridium, Trend, SIPP and be able to write a program from concept, including the production of graphics. We envisage that 60% of time to be office based with the remainder installing, commissioning and testing software and plant operation on site.

Key Skills:

• Qualified in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (ONC/HNC)
• Experienced in the Commissioning of Building Management Systems
• Must be qualified and experienced with Trend Systems and possibly Distech.
• Able to write Software and Graphics from mechanical designs.
• BACnet, SIPP, Modbus systems experience desired.
• CSCS/ECS or JIB registered, ideally ECS BMS technician card holder
• A valid driving licence

Role Profile

This is an office-based position with occasional site visits.

A positive passion for developing new skills and embracing new approaches to controls application would be pre-requisite.

c. Preparation of schematic drawings
