The Department for Communities work with us towards research & legislation but nothing can happen without a Minister or the Assembly.

The Irish Government and Minister for Equality Roderic O'Gorman plan to introduce draft legislation in the next few weeks.

NI will not be left behind. The fight continues.

We are seeking individuals to come forward to be interviewed about their experiences with conversion practices (also known as conversion therapies or reparative therapies). This encompasses all medical, psychological, religious, cultural or any other interventions that seek to erase, repress or change the sexual orientation and/or gender identity of a person.

This research will inform the Department for Communities to work towards a ban on conversion practices. This research project will be managed by a steering Group which has representatives from The Rainbow Project, Cara-Friend, HEReNI and Transgender NI.
