Someone said to me recently, “You do so much, I don’t even know how I could help.”
So I wanted to pause for a moment and gently break down what we do at Compassionate Cuts — and how, in very real ways, you already can help.
At its heart, Compassionate Cuts is about dignity, accessibility and showing up.
We provide affordable hair and nail services in the comfort of people’s own homes — perfect for anyone who can’t access traditional salons due to illness, anxiety, disability, caring responsibilities, or any other barrier life throws their way.
Alongside this, we build community connections. Through monthly sessions with local groups and referrals from trusts and organisations, we offer free haircuts and hygiene support to people living below the poverty line — meeting people where they are, without judgement.
We also carry out homeless outreach, providing all-round, practical support to those experiencing homelessness. That can look like warm, dry clothing, hygiene packs, hot drinks, or simply taking the time to listen and respond to what someone actually needs in that moment.
And every Sunday at 2pm, you’ll find us at Buoy Park in Belfast, running our Giving Table — offering a warm meal, a hot drink, and consistent, compassionate support right in the heart of the city for anyone who needs it.
This work is only possible because of community.
And support doesn’t have to be complicated.
