⚽💙 From 14 Girls to 140 Girls! 💙⚽

Four years ago, we started the Strandtown Primary School Girls Football Academy with just 14 girls. Today, we're proud to have around 140 girls taking part every week, supported by an amazing team of coaches and volunteers.

What began as an opportunity for my daughters and their friends has grown into a thriving football community where girls can have fun, make friends, build confidence and learn important life values such as respect, teamwork and kindness.

A huge thank you to Alan Crooks, Stevie Rea, Mia McDowell, Zara McQuillan, Jaz Houston, Natalie Thompson and Belfast Met Women's Football Academy, as well as Miss Bailie and everyone at Strandtown Primary School, for their incredible support over the years.

Seeing so many girls enjoying football every Friday afternoon makes me incredibly proud. Here's to the next generation of girls playing, learning and thriving through sport.

Don't Build Heroes. Build Teams.

🔹 Leadership Reflection

Many organisations celebrate founders and CEOs.

Few celebrate the teams, volunteers and partners who make success possible.

When all attention focuses on one individual, organisations can become vulnerable.

The strongest charities create cultures where leadership is shared, talent is developed and success belongs to everyone.

The goal is not to be the hero.

The goal is to build something that thrives without you.

Funders Value Honesty

🔹 Funding Insight

One of the biggest mistakes organisations make is avoiding difficult conversations with funders.

In reality, funders usually appreciate honesty.

Whether discussing challenges, growth plans or leadership transition, being transparent helps build trust.

Funders invest in impact.

They also invest in organisations that demonstrate strong governance and long-term sustainability.

Trust grows through conversation, not perfection.
