How to stand out at a BNI meeting

(and be remembered for the right reasons)

Standing out isn’t about being loud or flashy.
It’s about being clear, useful, and easy to remember.

1. Seen – show up and stand out

Attend consistently.
Sit up. Make eye contact.
Be present, not hidden behind your phone or notes.

If people don’t see you, they won’t remember you.

2. Sound – speak up and be heard

Use your voice.
Speak clearly and with confidence.
Say less, but say it well.

Mumbling or rushing loses attention fast.

3. Story – problems and solutions

Don’t just say what you do.
Talk about the problem you solve.
Then explain how you solve it.

People remember problems more than job titles.

4. Specific – be clear with your ask

Vague asks get vague results.
Say exactly who you want to meet and why.

“Anyone who needs me” helps no one.

5. Strapline – your simple hook

Have one clear line people can repeat.
Short. Plain. Easy to pass on.

If they can’t repeat it, they won’t refer you.
