Pamela has been part of the RiverRidge team since 2011, bringing over 15 years of dedication, experience, and commercial expertise to the business.

From driving sales and building strong customer relationships to supporting the continued growth of RiverRidge, Pamela plays a vital role in helping us deliver for our customers across Northern Ireland.

Her determination, communication skills, and commitment to achieving results make her an invaluable part of the team.

A look back at the evolution of the RiverRidge fleet 🚛♻️

Over the years, both our vehicles and our branding have changed as RiverRidge has continued to grow.

These photos show a mix of some of our earlier fleet alongside the vehicles you’ll recognise on the roads today.

While the fleet may look different, the focus remains the same: delivering reliable waste and resource management services to customers and communities across Northern Ireland.

It’s always good to look back at where we started and see how far things have come.

Throwback to RiverRidge behind the scenes at the Balmoral Show 🚛♻️

While thousands of visitors enjoyed one of Northern Ireland’s biggest annual events, our teams were working behind the scenes to help keep waste operations running smoothly across the site.

Proud to see Adele’s story highlighted by Action for Children Northern Ireland ⭐

Adele has been part of RiverRidge for over 20 years and, alongside her husband Colin, has also dedicated so much of her life to fostering.

Being able to support our people when they need flexibility for appointments, training and family commitments is simply part of being a responsible employer.

As Brett says, RiverRidge has always been a family-oriented business at heart, and we’re proud to support Adele in the incredible work she and her family do.

A huge thank you to Action for Children Northern Ireland for sharing her story, and most importantly to Adele for everything she does both inside and outside of RiverRidge. ❤️

We want to say a huge to employers who support foster carers ⭐

Adele, who has been with Action for Children Fostering Northern Ireland since 2015, has worked for RiverRidge Rethinking Resources for 21 years. She credits the company with helping her and her husband Colin ‘be the best foster carers they can be’.

“My employers probably don't realise that we genuinely could not do this without their support, or just how beneficial it is to us," Adele said.

“They don't know how valuable that time is that they give us to attend appointments, training and Looked After Children Reviews. I always say it’s not just Colin and I bringing up our child - our workplaces, our family, our friends and our church family all make a massive contribution.”

RiverRidge’s Chief Executive Officer, Brett Ross, added: “For us being a fostering-friendly employer was never a policy decision on a page somewhere; it came from people. When you have someone like Adele, who has been with us for over 20 years and who fosters with the kind of dedication she does, you quickly realise that supporting her isn't a favour - it's the right thing to do.

"RiverRidge has always been a family-orientated business at heart. We know our people carry a lot outside of work, and fostering is one of the most important things anyone can take on. If a bit of flexibility from us means a child gets a stable, loving home, then that's an easy decision to make.”

Throwback to The Open at the Royal Portrush Golf Club

While the action was taking place out on the course, RiverRidge was working behind the scenes supporting waste operations across the event.

On the upper River Agivey, the banks were falling into the river, and taking the salmon's spawning grounds with them.

This year, Agivey Anglers Association set out to fix it using soft engineering: working with the river rather than against it.

🌿 Brash pinned with timber poles to protect the bank and grow it back naturally
🪨 New spawning gravel, sized for Atlantic salmon
🐟 Logs and brash to shelter young fish
🐑 Livestock fenced out so the banks can recover
🌳 Native trees going in this winter

Great to see the Crumlin River Restoration Project progressing and the work being done to improve spawning habitats and support local biodiversity.

Projects like this show the impact that collaboration between community groups, environmental organisations and funding partners can have on the ground.

Proud to see RiverRidge Rethinking Resources Environmental Fund supporting part of the project alongside the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland and the wider Nature Recovery Challenge Fund.
