Businesses join Belfast Chamber because they recognise that we are the only business organisation that is focussed on lobbying for and supporting all businesses within the entire city of Belfast. We passionately believe that the voice of business in Belfast must be listened to by policy makers and politicians in order to build the strongest possible framework for investment and business growth. We want those policymakers to also put Belfast First. Membership of Belfast Chamber gives companies access to a full range of services to enhance business success and establish stronger relationships within the wider Belfast business community.

On Tuesday evening, we were delighted to welcome our New York delegates to the US Consulate for a drinks reception ahead of their trip next week.

The evening gave delegates the opportunity to meet and network before travelling and we value the chance to strengthen the transatlantic connections that we are so proud of here in Belfast.

Thank you to James Applegate, US Consul General Belfast and the wider team for kindly hosting us once again this year.

Reacting to the recent violence in Belfast and the impact on businesses, Clare Guinness, CEO at Belfast Chamber, said:
“The scenes of violence witnessed across Belfast over recent days are deeply disturbing and must be unequivocally condemned. While Belfast Chamber supports the right to peaceful protest, there can be no justification for disorder, intimidation or the disruption of businesses, communities and public services.
“We have been speaking with Chamber members from across the city and there is genuine concern about the impact these disturbances are having on businesses, employees and customers. Many have been forced to close or alter operations, while others are facing financial losses at an already challenging time. The livelihoods of local people should not become the collateral damage of acts of violence.

“Belfast is a city that must continue to attract investment, talent, and opportunity from around the world. At a time when we need political leadership and collaboration to drive the city forward, businesses, schools and local communities are instead dealing with the consequences of wanton violence. We urge all those involved to step back from further disorder and allow Belfast to move forward.”
