We had a fantastic turnout for our recent Ready, Steady, Go: Preparing Your Business for Launch masterclass at North City Business Centre, with plenty of discussion, ideas and practical insights shared throughout the evening.

North City Business Centre is seeking a reliable and hardworking Part-Time Cleaner to join our team.

📍 Location: North City Business Centre, North Belfast
🕙 Hours: 15 hours per week
📅 Monday–Friday, 9am–12noon
💷 Hourly rate: £12.71

The role will involve maintaining a clean, welcoming and professional environment across our business centre.

Previous experience working in a commercial cleaning environment is essential. Applicants should take pride in their work, have excellent attention to detail and be capable of working reliably and independently.

Boosting Enterprise in North Belfast: Flo & Dot

North City Business Centre continues to support new and growing businesses across North Belfast, helping local entrepreneurs move from idea to action with practical, commercially focused advice.

Flo & Dot, based at 640 Antrim Road, Belfast, is a new independent retail store offering stationery, gifts, workshops and creative experiences. Alongside its retail offer, the business is also developing as a creative space, with events helping to bring people together and add something new to the Antrim Road.

Through North City Business Centre and Go Succeed NI, Rory received advisory support across the start-up phase of the business, including sales, ecommerce, finance, commercial planning and marketing. The focus was on helping him consider the options available and make informed decisions about how the physical shop and online activity could work together.

Supporting businesses like Flo & Dot also contributes to the wider local economy, encouraging footfall, supporting independent retail and helping create the conditions for future employment and job growth in the area.

Rory kindly shared the following feedback:

“Working with North City Business Centre has been really valuable through the start-up phase of establishing my retail store, Flo & Dot on the Antrim Road. Chris has been a trusted sounding board as we explored the setup of the shop and how the ecommerce side of the business could develop alongside it. We are delighted to announce that North City Business Centre has been shortlisted for the Social Enterprise of the Year Award!

This recognition comes at an incredibly exciting time for North City. We have secured £3.75 million in funding to acquire three new premises - one of the most significant periods of growth in our history.

This expansion is about much more than buildings. It will allow us to provide additional affordable workspace, support more local businesses and entrepreneurs, create employment opportunities and increase our social and economic impact across North Belfast.

As a social enterprise, every success is reinvested into supporting our tenants, strengthening enterprise and creating opportunities within the communities we serve.

Having a business idea is an exciting first step but turning that idea into something ready to launch can feel overwhelming. From understanding your customer and setting your prices to registering the business, promoting it and making your first sales, there can be a lot to consider.

The Go Succeed NI Start team hosts this in-person evening masterclass, “Ready, Steady, Go: Preparing Your Business for Launch”

Wednesday 30 September from 6.00pm to 8.00pm, in North City Business Centre.

This practical session is designed for people who have a business idea they want to move forward with, as well as those who have recently started a business and want to make sure they have the right foundations in place.
