I have over fifteen years experience of supervised practice in counselling / psychotherapy / behaviour analysis with young people and adults in the home, school and community setting. I also have over five years of experience supporting children, adults and families in a therapeutic approach managing living with autism. I am currently working in three counselling organisations where I am presented

with a diverse array of needs from the clients that are referred by a range of people including doctors, psychiatrists and family members amongst others. In addition to these posts, I have my own private practice in the Belfast area. I am experienced in working with brief therapy as well as long term work; depending on each individual clients needs. I have an easy manner and have great enthusiasm and passion for my work. At present I am a Doctoral Candidate exploring the therapeutic process between therapists and clients who are on the autistic spectrum.

It was a pleasure to be surrounded by attendees that provided such a hot bed of therapeutic excellence and enthusiasm to learn about neurodivergent ways of being at the BACP CYPF conference. The feedback both on my presentation and the conceptual framework Neurotransception was well received which sparked some wonderful conversations with my peers and it has inspired me to further develop the sharing of this information.

So just finishing the finalising touches for the draft Chapter on Neurotransception for Damian Milton’s new proposed book on double empathy and monotropism https://participatoryautismresearch.wordpress.com/category/news/ .

Feeling very privileged to be part of such esteemed colleagues with some time to reflect before moving on to my next project, in how neurotransception can evolve within our ever-changing world that we live in and how the relational dynamics of both old and new, occur within those spaces.

This has been a week of mixed emotions and experiences, that ended on a fantastic days training I was delivering on looking at how we integrate trauma informed care that is respectful of an autistic individuals experience. I literally didnt think that could be topped, and I just received this letter via email, what a great way to start the weekend.

Watch this space and my website www.thespacebetweenus.co.uk/ www.counsellingrooms.co.uk wherethere is a lot more to be shared soon as I now can start to roll out some of the material that came from this journey. Very excited to be beginning the next leg.

As we circumvent different time zones celebrating and reflecting on times from the past with ones we miss, and times on the future which have yet to be created, I wanted in this moment of now just wish everyone a peaceful and prosperous holiday season, where ever you are, and recognize that in this moment of now whatever space you are in, that it is important , and that you are important, and you matter. Just finished colating and making final adjustments to my presentation tomorrow. Excited to be sharing my own personal experience and how this relates to my research around neurotransception, and what this may mean for neurodivergence and bullying. Too many people have sat in silence, we need to open this topic up now that the world is maybe in a more listening place and wanting to understand more about the dyanmics behind the bullyinmg and coercive controlling experiences that can exist in many social coonections as well as within neurodivergence

Please log in and hopefully I can shed some light on this topic

When I am working on studying how we make connection as individuals, and through reviewing my research and practice, when I listen to how many individuals have felt they are too quickly misinterpreted whart is occuring which further disconnects the individuals from the service they are receiving, I am heartened by seeing such pictures. Connection is always available in circumstances where one might assume there is no possible way ty make connection, we need to be more open to the possibility of connection rather than imposing our biased interpreations, and only then are we opening ourslves up to what we have the potential to achieve. I will be talking about this more as I begin to presrnt on my research findings a little more. Stay tuned

Hi Folks, just to let anyone know I have been asked to do a talk on Neurodiversity and Bullying as part of USA Bullying Prevention Month. I will be one of three discussing their own personal experience and then reflecting on how this relates to neurodiversity. Anyone interested please use the following link below. Probably a topic that needs a lot more understanding than what it receives.
