Everyone talks about beating the ‘January blues’ but February can be just as hard and cold and spring can seem forever away 🌷
A few things you can do to help beat the February blues:
1. Ensure you meet the required 10-20mg daily vitamin D intake - during the winter months this is hard to obtain from sunlight alone. Consider taking a a vitamin D supplement which helps regulate calcium and phosphate. These micronutrients are important, contributing to keeping energy levels raised. Studies have shown a correlation between low levels of vitamin D and depression, so this could be a crucial contributor to booting your mood☀️
2. 20 minutes of daily exercise - the NHS recommend, 150 minutes of moderate exercise a week, this equates to roughly 20 minutes a day. Getting your body moving and endorphins flowing can really help!🏃🏾♀️
3. Try and be social if you can - pick up the phone and call a family member or friend, remember you are not alone, connecting with others is important👭
These are things are not groundbreaking, you may already be aware of them, but just a gentle reminder. What are your methods for beating the blues? Comment below!
