Is porcelain paving slippy?

The simple answer is no, but let us examine the facts.

Outdoor porcelain tiles are manufactured with advanced techniques that create a textured surface, even on tiles with a seemingly smooth finish. This texture provides excellent grip, even when wet, significantly reducing the risk of slips and falls.

The “R” value shows the degree of slip resistance a tile has. All porcelain tiles supplied by Coolestone has at least R11 anti slip rating. R11 is designated to products when a tester is able to comfortably walk on a platform between 19° and 27°.Tiles which fall within the R11 rating are considered to be secure for both dry and wet environments making them the perfect choice for our climate.

Furthermore, the non-porous nature of porcelain prevents water absorption, ensuring that the surface remains drier for longer periods. This enhances traction and minimizes the potential for accidents.

It is important to note that the installation process plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety of outdoor porcelain. When laid with proper techniques and appropriate adhesives, the tiles create a stable and secure surface. Additionally, regular maintenance, such as sweeping away debris and occasional cleaning, helps to maintain the optimal performance of the tiles.
