After 4 weeks solid work 50 MON-50 replica Russian mines have been despatched to the customer. Now to start the 50 MON-90s he wants. These are not for general sale. They are training aids for mine clearance operators.

It has been very quiet with work so far this year until June when a couple of orders came in. This is the first batch completed and ready to be packaged. I start the second much bigger order once I've cleaned out the workshop and sort out the moulds.

A lot going on at present. Surrogate TM-62 anti-tank mines for training purposes, Surrogate F1 Soviet grenades again for training and recognition use. The strikers and levers all had to be inert as part of the brief. The latest POM-3 Russian cluster bomb I've been asked to make parts for the surrogates. A really nasty device that has a seismic fuze along with a few other methods of detonation. It is a bounding mine that the first bang launches a container up about 1metre, the second sends out the shrapnel best described as 90 50mm diameter circular saw blades in all directions. At present there is no method of deactivation in the field.
The other pictures are of on going projects. A model of the NLAW rocket taken from a factory solid wooden display model found at a Militaria show that moulds and castings are being made for a customer in England. Then there is the fun project. An American M117 750lb bomb. The tails are widely available and used to make fancy BBQs. At present a prototype bomb casing is being 3D printed that eventually will be used to produce the moulds for a fibreglass version. No great sales potential with only two wanted so far but with another 100 tails at least available to the UK market we could sell 3 or 4 more.

I've been very busy producing what are referred to as surrogate mines as training aids for a company in England. They add the metal components or various additions and supply them to various customers for training new recruits to the work and civilians in the danger zones. This is a couple of the Russian mines from the list I have to produce.
The amount of work that has come in means that most of the normal greenpig work has had to be suspended

It's been a while since I posted. Covid proved to be a busy time for greenpig but has also led us in different directions. Apart from making reproduction parts for vintage Rolls-Royce cars and film work of different types we have also become, along with phoonominal trading involved more with a mine clearance company. This has led to the production of rather more detailed products. As they are for use as training aids for military or NGO customers and not the civilian market they have been kept rather low key. With the unfortunate war in Ukraine our services are already on the increase. This will be mainly for there but also Syria.
I'll in England in a few weeks time to make a mould of a 1000 pound aircraft bomb. With a German WW2 SC-50 bomb to mould when I get back.
Of course all this means a lot of my normal work has had to be suspended but for me the mine clearance work is a priority. Especially when you see the work being done by the Halo Trust and other mine clearance companies. Work is already underway to to clear areas of Ukraine, the UN work in Mali, Syria and even in Vietnam. Through the company we are working for we have items being used in all these countries and a few more I haven't been told the names of.

With five boxes totalling 17.8kgs weight of AP mines and fuzes to one customer plus a box of grenades delivered to another this week we've been busy since the start of the new year. There are still some more fuzes to mould and then cast, six rapier missiles to be completed and four or five replica Browning 30cal machine guns to build I think we will be busy to the middle of March.
We hope to be at the Malvern militaria show as traders along side our partners in the replica AP mine project Phoonominal trading. The mine project will take another six months at least to complete the initial moulding work with the follow up orders to be made after the initial batch goes out to customers. We hope that the low prices on the mines will allow the charities to be able to train both their clearance operators in recognising them but also to educate the people effected by them to recognise them.
There is also some film work in the near future to fit in along with a batch of mermaids to cast. 2020 looks as if it's going to be a busy year for us.
From mermaids to missiles greenpig can help.

This is the replica Rapier missile project we have been working on for a while now. All the parts are now in production and in some cases upgraded to replicate a live version rather than a drill /display version. With five kits delivered along with the drawings to help with the build one is almost ready for paint and two others aren't far behind. With another two to follow. Green Pig hope to begin assembly of our own over Christmas.
Given the current market price of genuine surplus missiles It should be possible for a customer to build four replica missiles for the price of one genuine drill round ( approx £1000) . With the upgrades to the fins from angle iron brackets and hex head bolts holding them in place to the rear fins being mounted on replica bearing blocks and bolted in place through the tube with stud bar and countersunk screws for the main fins the cosmetic appearance is improved.
The kit includes all the main castings, screws and nuts along with the drawings. The main fins, main fin supports, and the pipe for the body are not supplied. We are working towards getting main fins made but the cost of lazer cutting them from steel may prove too high. Trying to ship the pipe would be expensive due to the weight and length but should be available from a good steel stock holder. We certainly didn't have any great problems finding it locally. The fin material should be available easily as well depending on what the builder decides to use.
Apart from the welding of the main fin supports the rest of the work can be carried out with basic hand tools although a M6 tap, a good countersink bit and an angle grinder will be needed.

A project we were asked to take on last year and after five weeks work the customer was very pleased with it. The brief was to convert a basic Land Rover into a sn**ch lookalike. Despite being made mainly from sterling board the panels are all sealed inside and out with fibreglass resin and matting so it should stand up to some abuse and the weather on set. As a screen queen I don't think it would stand up to close scrutiny but as background it will fool the camera. Certainly the customer was very pleased with it although there are still some parts needed to complete the look. The inside needs fitted out if it is to be used for interior shots but that work will be carried out when the budget becomes available. So far it has been used in one film.

The main reason for the shortage of posts recently is that in conjunction with Phoonominal Green Pig are producing a range of over 60 resin replica anti personnel mines for use as identification training aids for the mine clearance charities. Green Pig produce the resin castings and Phoonominal carry out the marketing. At present we have 25 types produced and Green Pig have just received a further 15 to produce moulds from.
Customers are already showing interest and an order has been confirmed from the Halo Trust the mine clearance charity Princess Diana was involved with. From the current level of interest it looks as if we are going to be busy.

This is a programme grennpig supplied the blue Land Rover for. It looks like a good show.
