300 years on, the name Jedediah Strutt still lives in the heart of Belper ❤️
Today, standing inside, it’s hard not to imagine what life must have been like here all those years ago. The very streets, buildings and community around us still carry the legacy of the man who helped shape Belper into the town we know and love today.
Born in 1726, Jedediah Strutt was more than an inventor and mill owner - he helped transform Belper during the Industrial Revolution, creating homes, schools, workplaces and opportunities for generations of local families.
To see his story displayed in a room filled with so much history feels incredibly special. A reminder that Belper’s past is never far away, and that 300 years later, his influence is still woven into the fabric of our town.
Here’s to celebrating Belper’s history, heritage and the people who built it 👏
