While we were at UK Games Expo 2026, we weren’t just meeting partners and running amazing demos – we were also helping to inform the industry through panels hosted at the show.

Evangelos, our crowdfunding and manufacturing expert, spoke on one such ‘State of the Industry’ panel that looked into the future of the tabletop industry. It was well attended with fans and industry veterans alike pouring into the Toute Suite to listen to what the panel had to say.

Alongside a range of publishers, distributors and even one of our own local retailers, Evangelos and the panel discussed the growth of tabletop gaming, including which sectors specifically were booming and how that data would affect the future plans that are currently being made by publishers.

Evangelos was also able to enlighten the audience and the panel on his specialist area, speaking insightfully on the current crowdfunding scene and trends that are emerging, as well as the explosion in TCGs lately and the values of different manufacturers.

If you want to find out more about these areas or book a member of the All About Games team for one of your panels, get in touch via our website or message our page directly.

We spoke to a lot of people at UK Games Expo about our interest in the longevity of publishers and the industry.

When we look at the big picture for tabletop gaming, mentorship is one of the most important things that can be offered to designers and publishers who are just starting out. This introductory advice is often what helps new businesses to find their feet, but it also provides a great benefit to the mentors and their own businesses.

Often the new perspective or innovations of these newcomers is exactly what is missing from the industry, and gives the mentors a perfect opportunity for collaborations that can redefine a product or genre.

This is something we’ve seen first-hand based on the time that some of our team members have spent doing mentorship, including schemes such as the Unpub Tabletop Mentorship Program. It’s also a deeply rewarding experience to help guide the next generation of tabletop gaming professionals, and to see the early ideas that might be shaping the industry in the next 10, 20 or 50 years time!

At All About Games we pride ourselves on delivering top notch services to our partners, be it crowdfunding campaign management, securing the best localization deals, or improving partners' bottom line through securing better manufacturing prices.

Underpinning all of that is the privilege of getting to foster connection between people. Be it between friends, family or even complete strangers, tabletop games of all kinds facilitate that human connection.

That’s why we do what we do.

Here are some of our favourite photos from UK Games Expo showing just that.

‘AI translation is just as good as Human translation!’

We’ve been told this by more AI start-ups and cold callers than we can count. But in our experience, it’s not even a close contest. Human translation beats AI every time.

There simply isn’t a LLM or ‘AI’ in existence that can flawlessly translate a complex hobby game ruleset into a functional, working document.

Boardgame rules documents are complex and filled with interconnecting reference points. Every rule, sentence and mechanism contributes to the overall system that makes the game work. By extension, no rule, sentence or mechanism can be looked at in isolation when translating a rulebook. The terminology, key game terms and rule wordings have to remain consistent throughout the rulebook.

This level of attention to detail is essential when translating, or you run the risk of breaking the game entirely. It’s a task the machine translations simply cannot reliably handle. The way that those platforms function is to repeatedly identify the most likely word to be used in the context of a sentence and use it. That sort of translation would not create a functional rulebook- and would risk fundamentally breaking the game design.

Many games have rules which use words with similar meanings but distinctly different rules associations. If we use TCGs as an example: ‘Destroying’ a character is very different to ‘Damaging’ a character. Both words are similar enough in meaning that a machine translation could translate them both into the same word- but that could have a hugely detrimental impact on your game design and balance!

That’s why every translation that our team provides is done by a human being.

We do not use machine translation, and every human translation we perform is also checked by multilingual proofreaders- all of whom are gamers.

At UK Games Expo, we’ll be hosting a playtest zone on the AAG booth. We have several amazing publishers lined up, some experienced veterans and some debuting their first designs.

The area is completely open to the public, and we’re excited to give these budding publishers a chance to showcase their new designs to players. From boardgames to TCGs, we’ll have a selection of innovative new games that players can try out- with opportunities to share feedback directly with the publisher and designers!

Learning new games can be tough- especially if a rulebook is not perfect. Learning new games in your second language? Even harder.

We’ve seen time and time again, that learning anything- from sciences to board games- is easier when you can read or be taught in your own mother tongue.

That’s why our team is passionate about enabling publishers to produce games in multiple languages.

We offer a competitive, effective translation service for publishers, whether they want to just translate their rulebooks or fully localise their games.

Our Translators are skilled linguists that specialise in games, so they’re familiar with context specific terminology for the product category, as well as understanding how gamers absorb information when reading rulebooks.

If you’d like to find out more about how they can help you to make your products accessible to audiences around the world- get in touch today!

With UK Games Expo only a couple of weeks away, it’s time to reveal the partners who will be joining us on stand 3A-102!

First up is the hilarious eurogame-parody Farms Race from our friends at Medium Brow Games. Play as one of several different species mutated by radioactive waste, granting you sentience, strange powers – and a thirst for countryside domination.

Build barns and armouries to grow your armies, and send them out into the countryside to extinguish the human resistance and gain access to their resources. Choose whether to invest them in your spy network to gain extra one-time abilities, or go all-in on nuclear domination and blast your opponents off the map. The first player to 10 Victory Points wins!

Visit stand 3A-102 for free drop-in demos of Farms Race and the other hot games we’ll be showcasing at UK Games Expo 2026.

If you want to meet with our friendly team of experts to discuss how we can help you in the tabletop industry, get in touch via our website or message our page directly.
