As the firewood season draws to a close, we’d like to thank all our customers for choosing Aubourn Firewood to keep their fires and log burners going throughout the colder months.

We’re now turning our focus towards milling projects, while also getting everything organised for Winter 2026.

It’s always an exciting time of year for us as we prepare the next batch of quality timber and look ahead to summer projects.

Here’s a recent project we completed: traditional Lincolnshire fencing, crafted from durable Sweet Chestnut.

We’ve also had a fantastic load of extra-long Larch arrive on site, ready for summer milling - keep an eye out to see what it becomes 👀

What does 6 cubic metres of kiln dried firewood actually look like?

We know it’s not always easy to picture log quantities when you’re ordering firewood.

So here’s a real-life example to help put things into perspective…

📸 This photo shows 6 cubic metres of our finest 12” kiln-dried logs, tipped at a regular customer’s property.

The delivery in the photo is roughly the equivalent of 12 standard builders’ bags.

To make it even easier to visualise:

🪵Our 1 cubic metre load = roughly 2 builders bags
💷 From just £130
👉 That’s equivalent to around £65 per builders bag

That makes our loose tipped loads great value for money.

The team have been working incredibly hard this week to keep everyone stocked up with kiln-dried firewood now the cold weather has arrived.

We snapped these photos as the sun was setting last night, and first thing this morning in the frost - some freshly processed firewood ready to go into the kiln for drying.

We’ll soon be heading into December, so please get your firewood orders in as soon as possible if you’re after pre-Christmas delivery.

A proud moment for the Aubourn Firewood Team!

This morning, we completed one of our largest firewood deliveries to date.

A total of 11 cubic metres of logs, delivered using both of our trusty trucks!

We’d like to extend our sincere thanks to The Spread Eagle Hockerton for their ongoing support and custom.

They’re keeping their customers warm and cozy with their beautiful log-burning stoves throughout the colder months.

We also had the pleasure of enjoying some delicious dishes from Blake’s fantastic menu during a recent works outing, and we highly recommend a visit if you’re planning a meal or festive gathering.
