Bring a Trailer moves into Hangar 113 for the Scramble 🏎️

Scramble online auction partner Bring a Trailer's first outing back in April was small but perfectly formed – a fine-tuned display that drew a steady stream of enthusiasts and quickly became one of the event's talking points. Come October, BaT is stepping up: taking over the whole of Hangar 113.

In a nod to the transatlantic nature of the partnership, leading it will be a celebration of the rarest cars of all: the central-seater.

By stepping away from the left- and right-hand-drive divide that traditionally separates the American and British markets, the display will celebrate the common ground BaT has found among automotive enthusiasts on both sides of the Atlantic.

Eclectic display to highlight the brand's wide reach – whatever side of the Atlantic you're driving on...

The original supercar turns 60. 🎈

Back at April's Scramble, five Lamborghini Miura came together to mark 60 years since the car's launch at the Geneva Motor Show – four parked outside Historit Car Storage, with one held inside.

Unveiled in March 1966, the Miura introduced the world to a transverse mid-mounted V12, a layout borrowed straight from the racetrack. The design was so striking that the press ran out of words for it, and coined a new one instead: "Supercar." Only 763 were built between 1966 and 1973, making any gathering of five a genuinely rare sight.

Lamborghini is marking the milestone today too, gathering over 40 Miura at Pebble Beach, California – set to be the largest assembly of the model ever held.

And what would a birthday celebration be without a balloon?

An important milestone for the future of Bicester Motion.

We have submitted the first phase outline planning applications to Cherwell District Council as part of our proposed 10-year masterplan for the continued evolution of Bicester Motion.

The three applications cover The Rushes, Command Works Phase 2 and Motion Living, bringing forward proposals for new commercial, demonstration, hospitality and customer engagement space, flexible employment space and around 200 low-rise, low-density apartments, including affordable housing, supporting amenities, enhanced biodiversity and sustainable travel infrastructure.

A fourth outline planning application is currently being finalised for The New Technical Site, providing research, development and scale-up space for pioneering mobility, engineering and technology businesses.

The plans aim to boost the UK economy and create both jobs in the construction phase and more in the future employment spaces.

The proposals build on the £100 million invested over the past decade to restore the former RAF Bicester Aerodrome.

Today, we are proud to be home to more than 50 pioneering mobility businesses employing over 500 people.

Thank you to everyone who took part in our recent public consultation. Feedback received has helped inform the submitted applications and will continue to influence future phases as the masterplan evolves.

The submitted outline applications will now be considered by Cherwell District Council as part of the statutory planning process.

Curated by Pendine's special Scramble display outside the Blast House welcomed Team BRIT Racing — the world's only race team made up entirely of disabled drivers.

Guests watched on as the team showcased a practice driver change with Noah Cosby and Bobby Trundley, before firing up their BMW M4 GT4 for good measure.

Team BRIT spans the full breadth of motorsport development, offering pathways from entry-level endurance racing right up to the upper echelons of UK GT racing.

A special thanks to Pendine for making it happen, it was a highlight!

Kingsbury takes top spot at Silverstone 🏁

Kingsbury Racing Shop’s Ewen Getley and Lewis Fox impressed at Silverstone and the Classic on 25-26 July, claiming a victory among a brace of class podiums.

The pair dominated their class in the opener with their Bentley 3-4½ Litre, before Lewis returned to the track in the Historic Touring Car Challenge aboard Kingsbury’s spectacularly original BMW E30 M3, built by Schnitzer Motorsport for the DTM in the late 1980s, with a class podium.

Looking back at Bring a Trailer's launch display at the Scramble... 😎

The world's leading online collector car auction platform made its maiden voyage across the Atlantic, landing in the MT Yard alongside Sports Purpose back in April. And it was a classy entry.

Highlights included a pair of special Porsches – a 356 Speedster and its spiritual successor, a Guards Red Porsche 987 Boxster Spyder, plus the Renault Clio 182 Trophy that went on to raise £10,500 for Thyroid UK courtesy of BaT co-founder Randy Nonnenberg, who was also in attendance.

Keep your eyes peeled for further announcements ahead of the next one. Grand plans are afoot, and the team at Bring a Trailer can't wait to see you all in October.

Both capable of more than 1,000bhp. Almost a century apart.

At the last Scramble, the Incendiary Store became home to our Progress of Power display, bringing together two very different eras of engineering at Bicester Motion.

Two Rolls-Royce Merlin engines were displayed alongside a YASA axial-flux motor, creating a striking illustration of how far powertrain technology has advanced in less than a century.

The contrast in scale is remarkable. A Merlin weighs more than 600kg; the YASA motor less than 13kg. Yet both produced more than 750bhp in their initial forms and, through continued development, went on to surpass 1,000bhp.

More than a comparison of engineering, the display connected Bicester Motion’s past with its future. Technological progress has long been part of this site’s history, and it continues today through the pioneering businesses based here.

Among those viewing the display was Jörg Miska, CEO of YASA, whose technology made this comparison possible.

YASA’s new headquarters at The Ranges, Bicester Motion, will soon become home to a workforce of around 500 people, continuing a legacy of engineering, innovation and progress on this historic site.

With thanks to Jamie Fairchild.
