🌤️We’ve hit the point in August where summer bedding plants can start to look a bit tired and leggy - if you want to keep your petunias and geraniums blooming and looking bright until the first frost, here are three top tips from our expert team🌾🌸
✨ Deadhead Regularly: Pinch off faded flowers along with their little green base stems. This simple action stops seed production, forcing the plant to redirect its remaining energy into fresh new flowers.
✂️ Trim Leggy Growth: Cut back long, straggly stems by about a third. This encourages a final flush of compact, tidy growth before the cold weather sets in.
💧 Adjust Your Watering: As daylight decreases and temperatures drop, soil stays wet for longer. Reduce your watering frequency, checking the top inch of soil first to prevent root rot.
