Remember those beautifully polished school shoes from the first-day photo? ✨

Yeah…

September had other plans. 😂

A few weeks of playgrounds, football at lunchtime and apparently using the toes of your shoes as brakes later, and they're looking slightly different.

Please tell us we're not the only ones. 👀

How are the school shoes looking in your house?

✨ Still immaculate
😅 Seen better days
😂 Absolutely destroyed

September started with everything freshly labelled, matching and accounted for…

Four weeks later and we're officially entering lost property season. 😂

Jumpers.

Water bottles.

PE kits.

And the occasional item your child is absolutely adamant they “definitely brought home.” 👀

What has your child managed to lose already this term?

And if that missing jumper really has disappeared forever, don't worry. We're here for replacements throughout the school year, both in store and online. 💙

After one of our busiest times of the year, we wanted to say something very simple…

Thank you. 💙

Every order placed online.

Every family who visits our Birkenhead store.

Every recommendation to another parent.

Every like, share and lovely review.

It all supports a local business, local jobs and local families.

We're incredibly grateful to everyone who chooses to shop with WUC, not just during the back-to-school rush but throughout the year.

Thank you for supporting local, Wirral. 💙

Those slightly chilly school mornings are starting to creep back in… 🍂

Which means it's time to dig out the warmer uniform and make sure everything still fits.

Jumpers.

Cardigans.

Blazers.

Coats.

Because apparently children can grow between putting something away in spring and getting it back out again in autumn. 😂

If you've discovered something needs replacing, we're here throughout the school year. 💙

There are few sentences capable of striking fear into a parent on a Sunday evening quite like…

“I need my PE kit tomorrow.” 😂

Usually said while the PE kit is still somewhere at the bottom of the laundry basket.

Bonus points if they've known about it since Friday. 👀

Tell us we're not alone…

What’s the latest your child has remembered they needed something for school? 😂

15/09/2026

We haven't even finished September yet…

and we're willing to bet something has already gone missing. 😂

Maybe the water bottle has vanished.

Maybe the jumper hasn't been seen since Tuesday.

Or maybe your child confidently tells you:

“I don't know where it is.”

Extremely helpful. 😂

So come on, Wirral parents…

What has your child managed to lose first this year? 👇

Your friendly September reminder to check those name labels. 🏷️

After a few weeks of washing, wearing, PE lessons and being shoved into school bags, now is a good time to make sure everything is still clearly labelled.

Especially the jumpers. 😂

Because once lost-property season properly begins, a plain navy jumper has an incredible ability to look exactly like the other 47 plain navy jumpers beside it.

Five-minute job tonight.

Check. Those. Labels. 👀

Remember buying their new uniform and making sure there was a little room to grow?

Keep an eye on it. 👀

Children have an incredible ability to suddenly shoot up approximately five minutes after you’ve bought their uniform. 😂

Throughout the school year, check blazer sleeves, trouser length, waistbands and school shoes rather than waiting until something becomes uncomfortable.

And when that next growth spurt arrives, we’ll be here to help. 💙

Back-to-school season might be over…

but we’re not going anywhere. 💙

Because school uniform has a funny habit of needing replacing when you least expect it.

A sudden growth spurt.

A jumper that never returned from school.

PE kit that has somehow vanished without explanation.

Or trousers that apparently fitted perfectly three weeks ago. 😂

Whatever you need, you can shop with WUC throughout the school year, both in store and online.

We need Wirral parents to settle this one for us… 👀

How many school shirts is the PERFECT number?

Are you super organised with one ready for every day?

Or are you standing at the washing machine at 9pm on Wednesday wondering how they’ve managed to get through every clean shirt in the house? 😂

Drop your answer below:

A, B, C or D? 👇

And if this post has just reminded you that another couple of shirts would make your life considerably easier… you know where we are. 😂💙
