Happy new week all! I’ve been whittling like mad over the weekend getting lots of little driftwood houses and cottages ready for the website but I wanted to do a few different things but still keep the simple geometric shapes and carved trees. Keeping in with my obsession for Japanese culture I just finished whittling this cute little Pagoda Temple tower, complete with little blossom trees 😃 I may have to make one just for my own shelf 😂

I’ve been saving pieces of driftwood, sticks, offcuts and scraps and for a while I’ve been thinking of different ways to use them rather than having them gather dust in the workshop plus I hate throwing good wood in the burner! I’ve been busy this week experimenting making little houses and trees, I’m so pleased with how these have all turned out and they’re such fun to make!😊 I’ve got so many more ready to paint but these three have just gone onto my Etsy shop. Hope you all like them!

Good morning folks! I’ve been waiting for some wood stock to come in so I can make a new side table when I found a huge old Oak chopping board a neighbour was throwing away! I’ve rescued and revamped it for the table which is nearly done. Definitely a crime to see good wood go to waste! 😃

Giveaway time!

I woke up to an amazing surprise on Sunday to find that I had reached over 1K followers! 😱 There are so many incredibly inspiring craftsmen and craftswomen on Instagram, Artisans and Makers, and it’s a real joy to see all of your work, I feel privileged to know that all of you are liking and following my little page.

The last coat of wax went onto this small handmade Sapele side table a few days ago. The entire build was with hand tools only, I sculpted the joinery so that it’s free flowing, there’s no bumps or jutty out parts 😃 I’ve put it on the website but does anyone else find it hard to let go of projects when they’re finished? 😂

Happy Friday folks! Just a quick post today to show you the little project I’ve been working on for the last few days. I’ve kept some really interesting offcuts of timber and thought they would make really unusual pencil/tool holders. These have gone onto the shop but the little one has just sold, the large is still available 😃

I hate wasting wood so I’ve been saving all of my little offcuts from various projects, I’ve spent the last few days turning them into carved keychains. I’ve just finished this carved Sunflower and Daisy, and I’ve just made them available at my shop!😊

Thought I’d have abit of relax with some down time recently and woodcarving is always the best way to unwind, made another Comb, I went for a beard and hair comb this time in a Spartan Shield design, quite happy with how this one turned out 😊
