Another Brilliant TEP Community Day! 🌍
This week, we came together for another TEP Community Day, and we couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who joined us to make it such a success. Volunteers braved the cold ❄️ to clear litter from the River Cole, Grand Union Canal, and surrounding areas, making a real difference to our local environment. A huge shoutout to Severn Trent, whose team got into the river with their specialist equipment to tackle the tough job of removing waste from the water itself!
A highlight of the day was welcoming the amazing students from Hallmoor School again, who threw themselves into both the litter pick and tote bag-making with real enthusiasm. Their energy was fantastic, and it was brilliant to see them so engaged in making a positive impact. ♻️
The Repair Café was another big success, with ReCognition Circular CIC handling digital repairs, Reinvntd CIC leading clothing repairs and tote bag making, and Top Gunn Cycles fixing up bikes to keep them on the road. It was great to see so many people choosing to repair and reuse rather than throw things away.
We also had the pleasure of showcasing University of Wolverhampton architecture students' designs for St Cyprian’s Church and Memorial Hall, exploring how funding could transform these spaces into vibrant community hubs. The discussions around how these buildings could better serve the local area were inspiring, and we hope to see these ideas come to life in the future. ✨
A huge thank you to everyone who took part, and to our incredible partners and supporters: Severn Trent, Environment Agency, Veolia UK, Birmingham City Council, Loconomy Ltd, University of Birmingham, Asda, Dark Green Group and SSE Renewables!
We’re already looking forward to the next Community Day on 21st May 2025—save the date, and we’ll see you there! 👏
