As the festive season approaches, we would like to inform you of our operating hours and delivery schedule over the Christmas and New Year period.

Please take a moment to review the key dates below to help plan your orders and deliveries accordingly.

Offices:
• Mon 22nd Dec – Wed 24th Dec: Open as normal (24th Dec sites may close early at local depot discretion)
• Thu 25th Dec – Wed 31st Dec: Closed
• Thu 1st Jan: Bank Holiday, Closed
• Fri 2nd Jan: Open as normal (Scotland remains closed for Bank Holiday)

Distribution, deliveries & collections:
• Weds 24th Dec: Last available delivery/collection date (warehouses and collection points will close around midday once drivers return and final cutting is completed for 2nd January dispatch)
• Fri 2nd Jan: First deliveries of 2026 – except Scotland due to additional Bank Holiday (first delivery of 2026 for Scotland will be Mon 5th Jan)

What a fantastic time last week at Decorex International ✨

The Crucial Trading team had an amazing few days connecting with designers, architects and developers, and giving a first look at the latest launches.

The Avani collection took centre stage, drawing plenty of attention along with the new Grace collection colours, which both turned heads throughout the show 😍.

Visitors to the stand also had the chance to win one of our beautiful Aura rugs, which proved to be a real crowd favourite! 🎉

A massive thank you to everyone who visited the stand - it was brilliant to share our passion for beautiful, design-led flooring with you all. 🖤

The Flooring Show 2025 has officially come to a close - and what a few days it has been!

✨ Brunch on the Mercado stand and our Sunday evening 100 years customer party - both great moments to connect and celebrate

Headlam Brands highlights
✨ Fantastic platform to show the industry how Headlam Brands POS works together seamlessly for independent retailers
✨ Reinforced the benefits of the Headlam Brands app for independent retailers
✨ Kingsmead Carpets launched two new ranges, Langley and Calla, now offering a strong polypropylene collection with three ranges across different price points
✨Fells Carpets showcased new colours to their already popular Silken Moments range.

Crucial Trading highlights:
✨Crucial Trading launched a beautiful new Flatweave collection called Avani
✨Showcased exciting new colours to the already popular Grace collection
✨Introduced the updated Mid-Floor POS for Crucial Trading - a streamlined design tailored for independent retailers
✨Presented Crucial Trading’s new Core Rug Collection with two versions of the rug ladder POS, using Harrogate as a chance to gather retailer feedback to ensure we offer the most customer centric version to the market

Along with the above we ran competitions, fun photo opportunities and had some fantastic giveaways which visitors loved.

Heading to the world stage!

This October, we’re incredibly proud to support Carlton Dickinson, Residential Area Sales Manager at Mercado (part of Headlam Group), and his son, Theo, as they travel to Italy to compete in the prestigious WTKA World Championships.

The event brings together the world’s top fighters across kickboxing, karate, taekwondo and more.

At the recent British National Championships, Carlton took Gold in the 17–35s category, while Theo, aged under 10, stormed ahead with Double Gold in his category. Their exceptional performances secured them both a coveted spot among the UK’s top three fighters, qualifying them for the World Championships.
To help them on their journey, we’re proud to donate £600 towards their travel and competition fees.

We wish Carlton and Theo the very best of luck as they represent Team GB, and the wider Headlam family, on the world stage. Go on, team! 🥇🥋💪

We're proud to see Mercado and our customer APR Contracts teaming up to support a local football clubhouse renovation! With nearly 100 flooring remnants donated, the event smashed its fundraising goal - a brilliant result all around.

Great to see our brands helping communities thrive. Well played, team!

Last month we supported our customer, APR Contracts with a fundraising event for a local football club to renovate its clubhouse.

We contributed nearly 100 vinyl and carpet remnants, and those remnants flew off the sidelines, helping the club make a huge stride towards their refurbishment goal. The team raised more than their goal amount - a solid win for the home team!

Well played to APR Contracts and all involved - we loved being part of your squad!

We work together to support our communities - delivering world-class flooring solutions in ways that make a lasting difference.

Recently, our team at Mercado partnered with Homeless Street Angels to help a gentleman in Wetherby who had been living in unsuitable accommodation due to serious health issues. With no access to a ground-floor bathroom and very few home comforts, he was surviving, not living.

Thanks to a brilliant team effort and a coordinated donation of carpets for every room, he now has a safe, stair-free place to call home.

This is a real example of our teamwork value in action!

A big thank you to Tony Bynon, our Product Training Manager, for visiting Temple Learning Academy last week to shine a light on careers in flooring.

With the industry facing a well-documented shortage of skilled fitters, Tony is engaging directly with students and encouraging them to consider flooring as a future profession. His session introduced the pupils to different types of flooring materials, the basics of area and cost calculations, and what goes into a professional fitting job.

Inspiring the next generation of fitters starts with awareness, and sessions like this help put flooring on the radar for young people making career decisions.
