You may have noticed that Asperger’s Heroes now has the new name Autistic Heroes UK. We’re making this shift to reflect current diagnostic language and to distance ourselves from association with Hans Asperger after whom the syndrome was named. https://www.npr.org/2018/05/12/610716324/doctor-behind-asperger-s-syndrome-subject-to-name-change

We are a listening and learning organisation and recognise that our name has been a barrier for some who would have otherwise wanted to access our services. If that has been your experience, we’re sorry.

We would like to take this opportunity to affirm that Autistic Heroes UK is here to serve the whole of the autistic and neurodiverse communities. Anyone is very welcome to join our discussion-based workshops and access our life coaching services if they feel that they might benefit from them. If you have any questions or would like to talk about any of this further, please do feel free to get in touch.

In the book "Asperger's Children: The Origins of Autism in N**i Vienna," Edith Sheffer writes about the doctor who first diagnosed Asperger's Syndrome. Sheffer tells NPR's Michel Martin how Hans Asperger's N**i ties were hidden for years.

Focus in prayer, meditation or worship can be a challenge to many neurodiverse people. Please come along with your questions, comments and share your experiences as we discuss this topic.
