"LOOKING FOR HEAD CHEF FOR HIGH STANDARD 40 COVER RESTAURANT IN BRISTOL" Aug/Sept start

The 40-cover restaurant is a new opening with the menu focused on celebrating the very best in British cheeses, with a creative array of bespoke dishes and an emphasis on high-quality ingredients. The kitchen team will be surrounded by a high-end newly fitted-out kitchen and a beautifully decorated restaurant in a relaxed, sumptuous setting within the heart of Bristol. The candidate must be creative, an experienced manager with strong cooking skills, experienced in training staff, menu writing, kitchen admin and meeting weekly GP targets.

Sad to hear today that Ado Campeol has passed away. Campeol was the owner of Le Beccherie, a restaurant in Treviso in northern Italy where the famous dessert "tiramisu" was invented by his wife and a chef.

The dish, featuring coffee-soaked biscuits and mascarpone, was added to their menu in 1972 and has become a firm global favourite ever since. Some of the very best dishes are created by accident and this is a great case in point.

Since the Roux Scholarship was established in 1983, it has enabled a new generation of chefs from Britain to train in the greatest restaurants in the world. Not only has it become the industry’s most acclaimed chef competition in the UK, with many scholars having gone on to win Michelin stars themselves, it ranks among the most prestigious competitions for chefs in the world.

Great results last night at the Cateys 2021 with special mentions to Eric Zwiebel for Wine & Spirit Ambassador, 67 Pall Mall for Best use of Technology Award and Andrew Wong for "Chef's Award". Well done all finalists and particularly uplifting to witness live hospitality events once again.
