πŸ€” β€œAlways incorporate at Β£X profit” β€” the myth that costs people twice.

Sole trader vs limited company tax: the crossover point is personal, because it depends on what you take OUT, not just what you make. Structure also changes MTD, pensions and mortgage applications.

Save this, run the calculator (link in bio), then let's sanity-check it together.

⭐ β€œAlways completed without us having to do anything.”

That's the whole point of Compliance Vaultβ„’: Evidence Pack keeps records audit-ready all year, Deadline Lock tracks every filing date, and the Portfolio Reporting Pack lands by the 7th of every month β€” without anyone chasing.

When MTD quarterly reporting becomes your reality, this rhythm is what makes it painless. 4.9β˜… from 377 Google reviews. 20-minute call, link in bio.

βœ‰οΈ Four mistakes, one brown envelope.

Self Assessment mistakes that reliably produce an HMRC letter: forgetting income HMRC already sees (interest, dividends, platform sales), guessed expenses with no records, missed payments on account β€” and this month, paper returns after 31 October (the paper deadline is three months before the online one).

DM us 'CHECK' for the pre-filing checklist.

πŸ“‰ Taxed on income you never saw? That's Section 24.

Mortgage interest is now a 20% credit, not a deduction β€” and higher-rate landlords feel it every year. Eight slides: the worked example, the band-creep and child-benefit knock-ons, and MTD's gross test nobody warns you about.

Save for your next mortgage-renewal conversation.

🏠 Do you need an accountant for rental income? Not always β€” and we'll tell you when you don't.

One property, simple mortgage, good records: file away. Multiple properties, Section 24, a sale, or gross income near Β£50k: that's when DIY starts costing more than the fee.

Landlords: where did you draw the line? πŸ‘‡

🏠 Landlords: one missed claim = money lost every year.

Five things people forget to claim against rental income: replacement furniture, agent fees, insurance, genuine repairs, mileage to the property. The repairs-vs-improvements line trips up the most people (like-for-like boiler = repair; upgrade = usually not).

Honest caveat: every claim needs records behind it.

πŸ’· Nobody publishes this number. We will.

What does an accountant charge for a small business? It depends on scope β€” but it should never depend on the clock. The slides show what actually moves the price (spoiler: your records) and why hourly billing is the reason people fear the invoice.

We work on one scoped monthly fee, agreed upfront. What would YOU want included in a fixed fee? πŸ‘‡

⭐ β€œI really appreciate the regular reminders they send.”

Deadline week shows you what your accountant is really like β€” silence, or a reminder before you've started worrying. Those reminders are Deadline Lock, part of Compliance Vaultβ„’: every filing date tracked for every client.

Monday's registration deadline got you scrambling? That's the kind of week we're built for. 20-minute call, link in bio.

😳 Small profit? You can still be enrolled.

The MTD thresholds trap: HMRC counts gross income, not profit. Landlords look at profit, assume they're under Β£50k β€” then the enrolment notice lands. Two different numbers; only one decides your MTD status.

DM us 'GROSS' and we'll check which side you're on.

HMRC has stopped waiting. This month it began automatically enrolling sole traders and landlords into Making Tax Digital for Income Tax β€” no application, no opt-in.

Who's affected: anyone whose gross self-employment + rental income passed Β£50,000 in 2024/25. That's income before expenses, not profit β€” Β£35k from your trade plus Β£20k in rent puts you over the line.

What enrolment means:
πŸ“Œ Digital records in HMRC-recognised software
πŸ“Œ Quarterly updates β€” the next deadline is 7 November 2026
πŸ“Œ From April 2027, late updates earn penalty points; four points triggers a Β£200 fine

Some people qualify for an exemption β€” worth checking before you assume you're in.

Don't wait for the letter to find out where you stand. Book a free 20-minute call and we'll check your position before the November deadline.
