You can tell a lot about a cabling installation before a single cable is tested.
Neat routing. Proper strain relief.
Labelled ports.
Consistent terminations.

A cabinet that looks like this is the result of planning done before anyone picked up a tool.

And it matters beyond appearances.
A well-dressed installation is easier to trace, easier to fault-find, and easier to expand as your business grows.

A poor one adds cost every time an engineer opens the cabinet.

Every Full Circuit network and data cabling installation includes a free site survey before work begins, full testing and configuration on completion, and complete documentation diagrams, test results, and certifications.
All installed to industry standards as an SSAIB-approved company.
New premises, an upgrade, or added capacity we design the cabling around your business, not the other way round.

Your alarm system could fail silently in 2027, and you might not find out until it matters most.
On 31 January 2027, the UK's analogue telephone network (PSTN) is being permanently switched off.
Any fire or intruder alarm still signalling over a traditional phone line will lose its connection to the monitoring centre. Here's the dangerous part:
The panel will look completely normal.
Sirens and local alerts may still work.
But no alert will reach the ARC. No keyholder call, no police response, no fire brigade.
And this isn't a 2027 problem. Over 1,200 exchanges are already in stop-sell, and some lines are being converted with just two weeks' notice.
There's an insurance risk too. Dual-path systems using PSTN as a backup become single-path overnight, which may not meet the standards your policy requires. Some insurers are already asking for proof of PSTN readiness.
How to know if you're affected:
Your alarm was installed more than 5 years ago.
It uses a phone line to reach the monitoring centre.
Your monitoring contract mentions a BT or analogue line.
If any of those sound familiar, your system needs migrating to a 4G or dual-path IP/4G communicator. For most sites, it's a single-visit job. But 2026 will be peak demand, and engineer availability will tighten as the deadline approaches.
Don't wait for a silent failure to find out.
We're offering free PSTN readiness checks across the North West. Link in the comments below

BS 476 ran UK fire testing for 90 years. It's now being removed from Approved Document B.
Two dates that matter πŸ‘‡

πŸ“Œ 2 March 2025 - already gone for reaction to fire (England)
πŸ“Œ 2 September 2029 - transition ends for fire resistance
The catch? Old BS 476 evidence doesn't convert to the new European system. Many fire-rated products will need fresh evidence - and testing capacity will tighten as 2029 nears.

One question for every building owner:
Can your fire-rated products still prove compliance after the transition?

Not sure? Better to find out now than in 2028.

By the time most alarms go off, the intruder already knows your routine.
They've watched the house. They know when you leave, how long you're gone, which window faces away from the street.
A loud bell doesn't stop someone who's already counted on having a few minutes.
What stops them is knowing instantly that they've been seen.
That's what a properly designed intruder alarm does. The moment a door opens or motion crosses a room, the alarm sounds and you get an alert, wherever you are.
You're not waiting for a neighbour to notice. You're not coming home to a surprise.
You know, in real time, exactly what's happening and where.
Modern systems are fully wireless, so there's no tearing through walls or trailing cables across the house.
They keep working through power cuts and broadband drops. The sensors tell the difference between a genuine threat and the family pet. And they're built to sit discreetly in your home not bolted on as an afterthought.
At Full Circuit, we design the system around your property, install it cleanly, and stand behind it. We only fit equipment we trust to do the job properly, so what goes on your wall is what we'd put on our own.
Homes. Shops. Offices. Anything worth protecting in Blackburn and across Lancashire.
If you've been meaning to sort your security out, this is your sign.

The UK's Building Safety Regulator has officially become an independent organisation.

On 27 January 2026, the Building Safety Regulator separated from the Health and Safety Executive to become a standalone public body another major step towards the single construction regulator recommended after the Grenfell Tower Inquiry.

If you manage a typical commercial building, there's no need to panic. This change doesn't introduce new day-to-day fire safety duties for most premises, and the regulator's direct responsibilities remain focused on higher-risk residential buildings.

But it does signal where regulation is heading.
The message from government is clear: greater competence, stronger accountability, better documentation and higher standards across the built environment.

For facilities managers and responsible persons, that means ensuring your fire alarms, emergency lighting, extinguishers and other life safety systems are properly maintained and, just as importantly, that you can prove they are.

Good documentation has always been best practice. Increasingly, it's becoming one of the strongest indicators of compliance.
Working with competent, accredited providers isn't simply about meeting today's requirements. It's about being prepared for tomorrow's expectations.

Would your maintenance records stand up to regulatory scrutiny if they were requested today?

A fire alarm panel only does its job if it's installed right, tested properly, and maintained on schedule.
That's the part no one sees until the moment it matters.

Our engineers are on site across Lancashire and the North West doing exactly this commissioning, servicing, and certifying fire alarm systems that meet BS 5839 and keep people, premises, and businesses protected.

If your alarm system is overdue a service or you're not sure when it was last checked that's worth a conversation.

School fires jump 44% in August the month the building's empty.
No staff. No pupils. No one to catch smoke before it spreads.
Zurich Municipal found August school fires cost five times more than the yearly average.

Who actually has access to your building right now?

For a lot of businesses, the honest answer is "more people than we'd like." Old fobs never handed back. Doors propped open. No record of who came and went.

Access control fixes that.
Fob, PIN, biometric, or intercom entry you decide who gets in, and you've got a record when you need one.
And link it to your fire alarm? The doors release automatically in an emergency.
Security and safety, working together.

What 43 years on the tools actually teaches you.

Anyone can install a fire alarm.

The panel goes on the wall, the detectors go up, the system passes its first test. From the outside, every installer looks the same on day one.
The difference shows up later.

It shows up two years in, when a system has been through thousands of door slams, kitchen steam, dusty workshops, and cold winter mornings and it still does exactly what it's meant to do, without crying wolf and without going quiet when it matters.

That's the part you can't see in a quote. And it's the part 43 years teaches you.
When you've maintained the same systems across the North West since 1981, you stop guessing. You know which detectors cope in a commercial kitchen and which will nuisance-trip by Christmas. You know how a care home actually moves at 3am, not how it looks on a floor plan. You know the failure that's coming before it arrives, because you've seen it a hundred times.
Experience isn't a line on a website. It's the quiet confidence of knowing what happens after the install and building for that from the start.
That's what four decades on the tools gives you. Not a faster fit. A system you can forget about, because it simply works.

Protecting the North West since 1981.
