From October 2024, all lorries 12 tonnes or more (gross weight) entering Greater London must have a 3-star DVS rating or higher — OR be fitted with the Progressive Safe System (PSS) to operate legally.

The PSS is the updated safety standard designed to better protect vulnerable road users, including cyclists and pedestrians. It includes:

✅ Improved sensor technology to detect pedestrians and cyclists
✅ Audible warnings for turning
✅ Blind spot minimisation tools
✅ Advanced signage and visibility aids
