Are you tired? Are you juggling too much? 💜

If you’re caring for a loved one, the answer is probably yes.

Caring doesn’t stop because you’re tired.

The washing still needs done.
The shopping still needs bought.
The appointments still need attended.
Work still expects you to turn up.
And your loved one still needs your time, patience and reassurance.

It’s no wonder so many carers feel exhausted.

Please remember this…

Taking a break isn’t giving up. It’s giving yourself the chance to recharge.

Even a couple of hours to catch up on sleep, meet a friend, attend your own appointments or simply enjoy some peace and quiet can make a huge difference.

At Trisha’s Support Service – The carer who cares, I offer compassionate, person-centred companionship and support, allowing family carers to take a well-earned break, knowing their loved one is in safe, caring hands.

💜 You matter too.

✨ I’d love to hear from you…

When was the last time you took time just for yourself? What helps you recharge when life feels overwhelming?

Share your thoughts in the comments—you never know who might need to hear your advice today. 💜

🎵 Music and Dancing Keep Memories Alive 💃

Sometimes, when words become difficult, a familiar song can speak louder than anything else.

Music has a remarkable way of reaching parts of the brain that dementia often leaves untouched. A favourite tune can bring back treasured memories, encourage conversation, spark a smile, or inspire someone to dance as if they were young again.

You don’t need a special occasion. Put on their favourite songs, sing together in the kitchen, hold their hand and sway to the music, or simply sit and listen. These moments aren’t just about entertainment—they’re about connection, comfort, dignity, and joy.

A song may only last a few minutes, but the happiness it brings can stay with someone long after the music has stopped.

Because sometimes the strongest memories don’t come from words… they come from a melody. ❤️

****** Menopause doesn’t pause because someone needs you.******

Being a carer is one of the most demanding roles anyone can take on. Add menopause into the mix, and even the smallest tasks can feel overwhelming.

Sleepless nights, brain fog, anxiety, hot flushes, exhaustion, mood changes… then getting up to support someone else with patience, compassion and a smile.

If this sounds like you, please know you’re not alone.

Caring for someone you love doesn’t mean you have to ignore your own wellbeing. Looking after yourself isn’t selfish—it’s essential. Taking a short break, asking for support, or simply having time to recharge can make all the difference to both you and the person you care for.

At Trisha’s Support Service – The Carer Who Cares, I understand that carers need support too. Sometimes just a couple of hours to rest, attend appointments, catch up on sleep, or enjoy a coffee in peace can help you return feeling refreshed.

You matter too.

💕 Be kind to yourself.
💕 Ask for help when you need it.
💕 Remember that caring starts with caring for yourself.

💜💚🩷See Me, Not My Illness🩵❤️🧡

Every diagnosis has a person behind it.

A person with a lifetime of memories, achievements, hopes, fears, and stories worth sharing.

Whether someone is living with dementia, Parkinson’s, or any other long-term condition, they deserve to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion—not defined by their illness.

Take the time to listen.
Be patient.
Share a smile.
Create moments that matter.

Because when we choose to see the person first, we don’t just improve their day—we remind them that they are valued, loved, and never forgotten.

💜 It’s the Person, Not the Diagnosis 💜

A Dementia diagnosis doesn’t take away the person someone has always been.

They are still someone who has favourite songs, favourite places, hobbies, routines, and memories that make them smile. They still deserve to feel valued, listened to, and included.

At Trisha’s Support Service, I believe support should never be about simply filling time. It’s about getting to know the individual and providing meaningful companionship that is tailored to them.

Whether that’s enjoying a walk, looking through old photographs, completing puzzles, baking, listening to music, or simply sharing a chat over a cup of tea, every visit is centred around what brings comfort, confidence, and enjoyment to your loved one.

Supporting someone to remain active, engaged, and connected can make a real difference to their wellbeing, while also giving family carers the opportunity to rest, recharge, or attend to everyday life knowing their loved one is in caring hands.

💜 Remaining Calm Isn’t Always Easy… But It Matters. 💜

Let’s be honest… being patient isn’t always easy.

When you’re running on little sleep, juggling work, family life, appointments, household chores, and the emotional weight of supporting someone you love, it’s perfectly normal to feel overwhelmed.

There will be moments when you’re frustrated.
Moments when you’re exhausted.
Moments when you wish you had just five minutes to yourself.

But for someone living with dementia, your emotions often become their emotions.

A calm voice.
A reassuring smile.
A gentle touch.
A little extra patience.

These simple things can help reduce fear, anxiety and confusion, making difficult moments much easier for everyone.

That doesn’t mean you have to be calm all the time. You’re human too.

The important thing is recognising when you need a break before you reach breaking point. Looking after yourself isn’t selfish—it’s one of the best things you can do for the person you’re caring for.

Sometimes just a couple of hours of support can give you the chance to recharge, return refreshed, and continue being the amazing carer your loved one knows and trusts.

💜 You don’t have to do it all alone.

💜 Sometimes the hardest words are… “I need a break.” 💜

Looking after someone you love can be one of the most rewarding things you’ll ever do.

It can also be one of the hardest.

Many family carers feel guilty about taking time for themselves. But the truth is, you can’t pour from an empty cup.

At Trisha’s Support Service – The Carer Who Cares, I provide friendly, one-to-one support for people living with dementia and others who would benefit from companionship.

Together we can:

☕ Share a chat over a cup of tea
🎲 Play games or enjoy favourite hobbies
😊 Spend time together in a way that suits the individual

What Makes a Carer? ❤️

A carer isn’t defined by a uniform or a job title.

A carer is someone who notices when someone is struggling… even when they don’t ask for help.

A carer has patience when the same question is asked for the tenth time.

A carer sees the person behind the diagnosis.

A carer laughs, listens, reassures and comforts.

A carer celebrates the little victories and supports through the difficult days.

A carer understands that sometimes the greatest gift you can give someone is your time.

For me, caring isn’t just about helping someone with their day—it’s about preserving dignity, encouraging independence, creating meaningful moments, and making sure no one feels alone.

Anyone can provide care.

But it takes compassion, kindness and heart to truly care.

❤️ Because caring isn’t just what I do… it’s who I am.

Sometimes the strongest people are the ones who never ask for help.

They quietly carry the shopping,
the appointments,
the sleepless nights,
the worry,
the endless cups of tea,
and the smile that hides their exhaustion.

They tell themselves,
“I can manage.”
“It’s only me.”
“They need me.”

Until one day, they realise they haven’t had a moment to breathe.

Caring for someone you love should never mean losing yourself.

Asking for help isn’t giving up.
It isn’t failing.
It’s giving yourself the strength to keep caring.

Even a couple of hours can make all the difference.
Time to rest.
Time to recharge.
Time to simply be you again.

Because the best care for your loved one starts with making sure you’re cared for too.

❤️ You don’t have to do it all alone.
